**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Welp its not. It's Gigabyte's transition for enthusiast gaming stuff called Auros. They even have a mobo with that name.

And it's a 1080 and has a copper backplate heatsink. Something ive wanted to see on GPUs for a long time.

You mean like this card

Did you have to support it with something due to sag ?

They don't sag.:)

Sometimes I use them without any screws in the brackets as they are only in the system a short time and it is difficult with some cases to do the screws up and they are still fine. The Corsair 900D is totally useless for fitting these cards.

Sagging I think has more to do with poor card design rather than just high weight.

Well I've bit the bullet and bought a 1080, won't update now till 12 series.

Initial thoughts is its so much better than my 980, doom running at 90-120fps on ultra with 3440x1440 is more than plenty for me :)

Dishonered 2 is only running 55-60fps on ultra at 3440x1440 on a quick test.

Swapped my PC into a BeQuiet 800 case too, I'm amazed how much bigger new cases are for sure.

No Kaap its on the back. aka backplate lol. It has a actual copper heatsink on the back because a lot of heat builds up there and there is nothing there usually to dissipate it.

I think the Kingpin cards do ok and are very cool running despite the amount of power they can pull.

If copper is used, I would rather it is used like on the Kingpin cards.:)

At 3:45 shows a card with a copper heatsink

That's the card im talking about which some one referenced... I said its gigabytes new gamign stuff and is a 1080. It has a copper backplate heatsink. i feel like we need to go back a page.

And its what i want to see on cards. Cooling from backplates as heat builds up there too.

Personally I don't mind and more than happy to wait for the 1180 or Vega. My 1080 isn't struggling at all. The only reason to upgrade would be if I got a 4k monitor, but there is nothing worthwhile or reasonably priced on that front anyway.

The guys in the link I posted say 1080Ti is ready and will be unveiled at PAX East 2017.

Yeah, saw that. bit later than I expected but hey, it does look like it is actually coming. Unless it's fake news again ... oh the joy of living in this decade of misinformation.
