**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

1080Ti card isn't even needed? 1080 still top card. 2000 series incoming by summer also. Will it still release shortly after 1080Ti?

Ill be waiting for new series for sure.

I think the article is in the link is just a typo, they are even saying that themselves.

8gb VRAM and Fury X for Ultra requirements are mutually exclusive for example.

It might run better on AMD, so need a 1080 Ti to match the performance of the old FuryX. :D

Nope here is no way a Fury X will match 1080 Ti's monster performance so 1080 Ti will probably nearly 2 times faster than 1080's 76fps at 4K but Fury X is on par with 1070 performance.

February is a good month for Nvidia with first 2 DirectX 12 games in 2017 both favoured Nvidia, added to majority of DirectX 12 games favoured Nvidia.

i know Vega is set to be out for April but not surprised if Nvidia can match or beat time frame. Had more time to stock pile Chips that didnt make Titan cut , supply of GDDR5X to build up, and would just be placed directly on PCB like Strix, G1 , Amp units with out to much of a design change.

question is, raw power over cutting edge tech. Intel and Nvidia now feeling the heat, about time to. I hope Nvidia raise the Voltage limit and lower the pricing for their series to push passed the Vega threat.

Had to go round and count them.

43 at the moment.

6 of them are dual cards so if I was counting GPU cores the total would be 49.

At least you'll never have the worry of a GPU packing in and not having a replacement. If you had them all running I wonder how many units you could crunch on SETI@home lol

Found this post on reddit, sorry if it's been already posted but check the ultra requirements.

So according to that 3 things:

1) 1080ti confirmed
2) 1080ti will suck/Halo Wars 2 favours AMD
3) That game has poor optimisation if it requires such power to max all the sliders at 1080p/1440p. That or they did a poor job of describing ultra performance instead of just saying 4k.

I.e. take it with a massive heap of salt. What do the benchmarks say? Or does the game not allow for benchmarks still being a UWP game?

Yep that's the one.

Some people are so desperate for there to be a 1080 Ti, they are right but who knows when.

I'm kinda one of those people, I've been waiting for a while now to upgrade my 980ti. But you're right, its the when is bugging me now. It's starting to a bit late to buy into the 10x series.

Hang onto the 980 Ti for the next few months, I would not have any problem using mine for gaming.

June will be here soon enough and with it what the GPU market is going to do for the rest of the year.

There's apparently a Pascal refresh this year, towards the end of year iirc - but that's just a "refinement" of the current architecture, so most likely just a bump in frequency.
New and next architecture is Volta, which we dont really have a time frame for, most likely be shown for the HED/Servers towards end of year where Nvidia host a convention iirc. But for consumers Volta, I THINK that will be next year, mid 2018

Shame no Volta this year. Pascal refresh = boring. Vega sounds much more exciting with all the new tech.

There is another issue, well for me at least. I have no real choice other than sticking with the Green Team due to a huge investment in a 1440p G Sync monitor, with G Sync and Freesync you are now signing up to one or the other (unless you are loaded). So for many who are looking for an upgrade the 1080 TI is the only option for a good increase over the 980 TI
