NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti to be "available" on June 3rd, RTX 3070Ti on June 10th

Yea 1 per address. But that includes billing address. Which makes it very hard to get multiple cards, without having multiple cards registered at different addresses too.

Getting an FE card is not hard. Yes it does still take some luck and timing, but faaaaar less than getting one anywhere else.
Especially when its the 1 place to get a card guaranteed at RRP.

Stupid question but, I presume these FE cards are sold directly on Nvidia's site? And when will we know what time on the 3rd they go up?

It only appeared too cheap because of the 2080Ti pricing.

The RRP of the 1080Ti was £700. The 2080Ti offered an approximate 30-35% speed bump over that card yet had an RRP of £1k, meaning the price/performance was roughly the same. That's even ignoring the reality that the vast majority had to pay £1200+ for one.

The 2080Ti should have been the same £700 as the 1080Ti. A 30-35% performance increase for the same outlay would have been a totally reasonable generational leap but NVidia decided to test just how much people would pay.

Had the 2080Ti been the same £700 RRP as the 1080Ti then the 3080 would have continued that progression, again with a 30-35% bump over the 2080Ti at the same price point.

Spot on. Any notion the 3080 was too cheap on launch is massively distorted by the price hike of the 20xx series.

Effectively price/perf was stagnant between 10xx and 20xx which made nvidia's price drop for 30xx back down to where they roughly were for 10xx seem more generous than it actually was. Great marketing psychology but shows just how much they gouged the prices on 20xx (and are doing again with the 3080ti)

Any news on what time the FEs will go live?

The 3080s sold out in about 2 seconds on their launch day, but I will try again for a 3080 Ti.

Usually around 2pm to coincide with reviews unless they try and stagger it this time around to give bots less of a chance.

Prices starting to show on some retailers sites. So basically more expensive from day one than the 3090 versions of the cards on release day... Give it a week and they will all be over £2k.

Thats mental. THe FE prices are 3080ti for $1199 and $599 for the 3070ti.

Even going by how the price converted with the 3080 that means the 3080ti FE will be £1150 and the 3070ti will be £550.

If using todays exchange rate they should be slightly less.

If you can get a 3080ti for £1150 than thats a good buy

The thing is the prices are not a direct conversion based on exchange rate. There are additional factors based on the cost of what is basically insurance to cover themselves for exchange rate fluctuations, different tax regimes, transport differences etc. etc.
