NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti to be "available" on June 3rd, RTX 3070Ti on June 10th

If, as the specs suggest, it performs pretty much as a 3090 just with less vram for £350 less, then surely it must be a decent buy given that the 3090 has had no issues selling.

My main concern would be cooling, hopefully, less vram means less cooling required.

Well that might be why they're still using the 3080 style cooler then, maybe add a better thermal pad and whatever else they have learnt from the existing 30xx cards..

I've just watched "Not An Apple Fans" take on this. Genius. There are sadly a sufficiently large number of morons who will snap these cards up, and further poison the industry. We cannot control what the filthy rancid suits at Nvidia do, but we can choose not to buy into it. We of course won't, and the team green coffers will swell, and they will assuredly continue to bend us over and shaft us with the enthusiasm of a Chihuahua humping a pillow. We deserve this, folks. We subsidised it, even. If we don't own this, we can't change it.

Disagree, was trying for months to get a 3080 , sat at the desktop for multiple drops , all ready to go. 3090s got to the payment screen multiple times, but 3080s, no chance.
Well, I guess you where unlucky.

If you really want an FE, stick at it. As I said... the window is about 10 minutes usually before the Out of stock message appears. Till it does, there is always a chance to get the "add to cart" button back.

It must be today if on sale 3rd ?
I hated that about the AMD RX6000 launch.
They went on sale at the same time as the embargo lifted. I wasnt happy to buy blind, and of course by the time one has watched a review its all over.

I thought reviews would be live from yesterday... but I guess not. So hopefully today.

I'm pretty sure all the previous launches were at 14:00 here so that would be my expectation this time around too. I'm not sure if we'll get any definite confirmation though.

Techpowerup review is out for various cards: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-ti-founders-edition/

Shockingly the FE card's memory gets to 99 degrees in testing, whereas the AIBs are much more reasonable. AIB cards such as the MSI Suprim X are faster than a 3090 FE so the comments earlier that an AIB 3080ti being faster than a 3090 FE are spot on. A shame as it's just going to let the AIB partners go even more nuts with their pricing. My other half's 980ti couldn't have chosen a worse time to fail with all of this madness.
