NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti to be "available" on June 3rd, RTX 3070Ti on June 10th

These prices will kill off PC gaming. It's also one of the reasons why PC VR will remain a niche compared to all-in-one systems like the Quest 2, when you could buy three Quest 2 headsets for less than the price of a PC graphics card that can run VR well. (And that's on top of the cost needed to buy a decent gaming PC without the card).

As long as there is a ready supply of 18-25yr old angry Incel's, with absolutely no life outside of gaming, I.e no partner, no mortgage, no kids, parents providing a free roof over their heads and easy access to a credit card to fund the (irrelevant) purchase price , the PC gaming scene will survive...

So just looking at OCUK 3080Ti prices at the moment.

Gigabyte GEFORCE RTX 3080 TI VISION OC 12GB GDDR6X PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD £1589.99

PALIT GEFORCE RTX 3080 TI GAMEROCK OC 12GB GDDR6X PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD £1499.99

Gigabyte
GEFORCE RTX 3080 TI EAGLE 12GB GDDR6X PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD £1399.99

Zotac GEFORCE RTX 3080 TI AMP HOLO 12GB GDDR6X PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD £1349.99

Palit GEFORCE RTX 3080 TI GAMINGPRO 12GB GDDR6X PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD £1049.99

I take these are holding prices?? there is no way the two bottom cards are going to sell for £1049.99??

Where are you seeing this??

I would say its more the 28-40 year olds who keep the market going. The ones with enough disposable incoming to keep buying and upgrading cards they probably don't need. Who think they NEED that extra 5% performance every upgrade.

I'd say its the miners and scalpers actually.

So what if I upgrade every gen if it only costs £200 after selling my old card?

Don't worry, I bet those will be going up quickly.

Sounds a little sour, I've got the income and a family, and a house... and I'd still pay those prices. I don't mind if it's a genuine supply and demand issue, but scalpers creating a false scarcity is what boils my p**s.

Oc it too and not much diff, so cheaper, more ram abs negligible speed

Yip, the 1st review had the 3080Ti OC'd vs 3090 FE Stock, not really fair as a lot of 3090 FE's will hit 2100-2200mhz Core easy.

They should have held off for the 10-12month as before to get it on Samsung's 5nm process (think it was that) then it could be more efficient and faster/cooler esp as 2 slot.

I was thinking that the 3070Ti FE might be a good bet to replace my 1080ti, if I can score one at MSRP from Nvidia (obviously very unlikely). Around a third faster for a few hundred quid, assuming I can sell the 1080ti on afterwards.
