NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti to be "available" on June 3rd, RTX 3070Ti on June 10th

Probably find the marketing men didnt like Super but TI got more reaction due to in nature of it being perceived a better card (in Marketing terms not spec/performance terms) , bit like a standard car v a GTI version you perceive it to be better when seeing the moniker. Marketing.

Im guessing that the reviews for the 3070Ti should go live soon?? I think it was around 1300 - 1400 the day before the 80Ti?

Im not intersted in one, but curious how close to the 3080 it gets. Wonder if there will be any more stock.

As to me it seems the 80Ti launch is pretty much just the FE cards. Seems very few AIBs anywhere.

Another interesting thing is looking at stock CEX have. Tons and tons of FE cards, and almost nothing AIB. (Across 3080 & 3090 anyway)

Anywhere from 7%-10% faster than the 3070 from what I've seen.
about same as the 'gain' from 3080 to Ti. Just for a LOT less increase in cost.
Im hoping CEX and scalpers don't get any more sales. But idiots will keep buying from them.

Also not interested in anything less than the 3080, looks like I'll be waiting till next gen again.

I am staggered to see cex shift through FE cards at the prices they charge....
Still better than from a scalper I guess... least you get a 2yr warranty.

I'd imagine it's because of their buy in prices being so low. Why bother with CEX when you can flog for far higher on eBay etc. especially if they were purchased to make a profit in the first place.

Would that not apply equally to FE cards though? Can get more for those selling elsewhere too. Although they offer more for FEs, its not massively more.

The prices they offer have dropped dramatically over last few weeks. And for the FE cards I can understand, they are sitting on a bunch of stock.
But the AIBs are all OoS...

And looking at the 80Ti launch... it just "finger in the air" feels like there are a lot more FE cards than AIBs around.

Oh yes I see your point. No explanation!

I have the exact same feeling which further supports my suspicions about the motives behind Nvidia's recent swathe of decisions.

No secret that both amd and nvidia would prefer to be the only seller of their cards and have no aibs involved. Can't see that happening for quite some time.

Right now I wouldn't mind that because the RTX 3000 series FE's are actually brilliant.

But if it were the case that there were no AIBs, then they most surely wouldn't be as they would have no competition.

Not one AIB can even make a decent dual slot when the FEs are dual slot.

They'd definitely need to make more than just the FE if they did this. The FE design is an absolute no go in my sandwich layout case despite how nice it looks :(

Nvidia will not cater to you - they'll just make their FE cards. If you want one, you'll get a suitable case, or open bench.

Perhaps next gen will be the last for custom cards, I bet Nvidia are itching to have complete control/dominance over their hardware/software chain, creating a console like market. AMD don't have anywhere near as much marketshare/influence, so I'd image they'll allow custom cards for years, though doubt it'll be profitable for said custom card makers as AMD aren't anywhere near as popular/desirable than Nvidia cards.
