** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

If the prices remain like this I might just look at picking up a pair of 1070s £620 for a product that is to replace a sub £400 card when it launched is an absolute joke and Nvidia can suck on it

I'd like a new graphics card.

I`ve got the asking price for one of these, but I'll hold on.

If we were looking at twice the performance of a 980ti, I'd be very tempted.

I have no self respect, so no loss :D

Neither do I but i couldnt bring myself to buy 2 FE 1080's :p

I will atleast try justify it to myself with 2 nice AIB cards with better power delivery/overclocking. Then watercool them once we have custom blocks.

If anything, higher 1080/1070 prices will only keep the 980Ti's at a higher re-sale value. So no loss or gain either way.

Glad i don't have the excitement i would normally have for a release or i would buy this even at this price, i'm keeping the 980ti for sure.

People are comparing the 1080 launch price to the launch price of the GTX 680.

What they are forgetting is the GTX 1080 is 4x as fast as a GTX 680.

Come on, Kaap...

Should they be 100x the price of a Voodoo2 then? Should the latest Intel CPUs cost millions, since they are over 1000x the perf of Intel CPUs from the 80s?

You get some perf for "free" with new tech. Not *all* of it is free - prices do inflate - but you get a good chunk of perf for "free".

You know that, I know that, we all do.

A 3rd tier card costing £600+ is lol-worthy. That's what it'll be after the Ti and the Titan hit anyhow.

Glad i don't have the excitement i would normally have for a release or i would buy this even at this price, i'm keeping the 980ti for sure.

Yup 980 ti is the sweet pot for sure, especially second hand.

Still not convinced of the overclock ability of these new cards yet, it will all come out in the wash.

Amigafan - what bios/settings are you using for your card. I'm on 1529/4050 on stock volts water blocked...high asic ...with the right bios I might be able to get close to you

Stock bios. I did try a modded bios but it made no difference.

How'd you manage to pay that much for ti's? Someone seen you coming.

Kaap doesn't care for value.

For Kaap it's all about having spent more than the rest of us. The cards themselves are almost not important. As long as he's spent more than we have - and has made sure everybody knows this - he's happy.

A fringe case :p
