** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

The prices are made up....

Even Gibbo said openly he was charging what he wanted for the FE.

Doesn't matter about the pricing...Thats all relative...

Relative to what?

If you are ok with being ripped off, just admit it.

Anyway, you makes your choice you pays your money. I know exactly what is going on here and won't pretend it's ok and hand over silly money for a 256bit card.

Up to you though.

No we already know this...We are not stupid....

Just look at the past range of cards....

The 980 was top of the range until the Titan X then the Ti....

Nothing has changed here...

As mentioned, the price certainly has!

1080Ti will be £800, easily... just look at 1080 and how that's positioned. Nvidia know what they're doing here and their intentions are clear.

GP100-based (HBM2) cards will be circa £1000. I guarantee it.

But that's all OK isn't it, because you don't HAVE to buy, you can choose not to. Basically, everything and anything is OK, as long as you have a choice whether to partake in it or not. Great philosophy... I can't see a single problem with that approach.

Yep

people can game at 60hz @ 1080p

They don't need the fast GPU on the planet at any given time...

next

Can you please stop putting "NEXT" and "YAWN" at the end of every single post you make? It's extremely condescending and rude to the person you are responding to. Very passive aggressive.

It's the philosophy of someone with more money than sense.

Ripped off doesn't matter

I buy 65 quid Adidas Trainers...They are made in sweat shops for Buttons...

256 bit matters not...Want the fastest right now...You have to pay for it...

Am I being ripped off...Yep....Absolutely. I don't have to buy one...

Fact is I'm actually leaning towards 2 x 1070 now

Yeah

Bit of fun

Ivan Know full well That I'm the kitten and he is the ball of wool :p

Well there is that.

But buying anything is sense for some and nonsense for others.

I mean why do people fish and spend thousands on Poles and gear...

They mad I tell you!

They look at people buying GFX cards and think the same :p

The prices are crazy whatever way you look at it.

But if your hobby means more to you than looking at things objectively and having some perspective then buy away ;)

Its his choice if he wants to spend his money on upgrading...

Ive got a 980TI and was initially tempted to upgrade but with the price and performance increase I have decided to wait and see what the next card brings....

At the end of the day the 1080 is the fastest gpu out there when it arrives and yes it is expensive.
But if people want to pay that price I say good luck and enjoy the fastest gpu.

Strange question sorry but will ALL of the 1080's be 8 pin power? Even with the aftermarket coolers?

Reason I ask is because I have some pretty decent custom cabling and currently have 2 x 6 for the GPU

It's everyone's choice.

It's people's justification that is a bit ridiculous ;)

I posted this is another thread

Yep for the FE its a price Hike But then the 980 was the same price $549 then there was a price cut.

GTX 980

The GTX 980 first debuted back in September of last year for $549. It was the fastest 900 series single GPU offering from Nvidia at the time and it continued to hold that crown until Nvidia introduced the more expensive cards based on the larger GM200 GPU earlier this year. At which point Nvidia found it necessary to drop the price down to $499. The GTX 980 while not as fast as the 980 Ti is still a great performer and with a price tag that’s $140 below what it initially launched at it makes it a compelling proposition.
