NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

Just got a couple of 970s in SLI.

Really feeling annoyed at the minute, all of my new games don't seem to be supporting SLI properly and I am getting generally average performance. I mean why on earth have nvidia put there logo at the start of Shadow of Mordor and then don't put out SLI support.

Just fired up the new sleeping dogs definitive edition, cranked all of the settings up thinking it would be a breeze. 24 fps!!!! I mean wtf. Second card not being used at all.

Alien Isolation is cool, but who needs SLI for this.

You can get sli working in shadow of mordor, google it :) I'm running 2 970s with everything on ultra but textures on high and average 122fps at 1080p

Mine was boosting to my OC of 1600Mhz on all DSR res's. I will double check tonight for you.

How are you finding the DSR? For games like Dayz I leave it on 4K as it looks better with no noticeable performance hit.

Games that I have noticed it, I have moved to 1440p.

I love DSR, but I use iffy settings

I still run atleast 2xMSAA+TrSSAA and then what ever down sampling resolution I can get away with.

DSR works great for reducing the stuff that normal AA can't get rid off, i.e shader aliasing and texture shimmer..etc...etc..

Hello there gibbo

Wanted to know a few things on the ref 970's

Will the cooler have GTX 970 logo on it like the 980? (meaning it wont be blank on the titan cooler)

Do you guys put together these 970 titan coolers yourselves? Which reference 970 are you using to make these new models?

It will have 970 stamped on it!
They are built by PC Partner for us to our specification, so NVIDIA BGA Board, Samsung memory and 980 cooler.

PC Partner build cards for Sapphire, PNY, Inno3D, Zotac, so the quality is assured. :)

Woo, RMA processed and I'll be getting a new card. With any luck it'll be shipped today and arrive tomorrow - potentially only 48 hours turnaround!

Just got my 970 G1, here are my first quick results:

Asic Quality = 73%

Fire Strike GPU Score = 13900 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/2933162

Overclock = +170 GPU + 525 Memory
Boost Clock = 1587
Memory = 8118

What I have found with this card is memory overclocking is very temperature dependent, maybe due to some being on the back.
In my first run I left the fan on Auto and benching in Metro LL I could not get the memory higher than 300 without artifacting. Then when I set the fan to 100% all was good and I could go all the way up to 525 no problems.
The Core temp never exceeds 60c with the fan on Auto, so I doubt that is causing the issue.

I would be interested if others with the same card could try a run with fan Auto then 100% to see if you have similar results.

Nice, what clocks are you running?

It ran at 1594 and 8262 memory in that. Downclocked slightly as I was hitting the power limit.

You should be able to go higher than that with the extra power the gigabyte cards have.

just received my G1 this morning.... did you use any extra power or core voltage??? to get these clocks?

haven't tried clocking this myself yet!

"Bei der GV-N970G1 GAMING-4GD rev 1.1 wurden wegen Lieferschwierigkeiten eines Zulieferers andere Bauteile in der PWM Stufe verwendet."

-- In the GV-N970G1 GAMING 4GD rev 1.1 were due to delivery problems a supplier other components in the PWM stage uses.

rev 1.1 just got another supplier for some pwm stage components
