Yeah its about 310mm long, didnt realise when I ordered it xD Looking for a new case and want to make sure I can SLI it :)

back off your overclock and save for another card instead.......rather than stressing it too much; just for an extra 6fps.

because at only 1/2 overclock this card blows the 7990 into next week, in SLI it's dead silent, only a few degrees hotter, looks truly awesome and is as fast as hell at 1080p..

I don't really need a second card, Mal;p At least not now. I'm very happy with the performance, remember that I upgraded from a 7850. The card'll be fine, temps hardly change with the OC and I've got constant 1522mhz stable in Ryse (temps ranged from 66 to 69). I guess it depends on the game, in some games the clock "readjusts" itself by a couple mhz for brief periods of time;p I don't think you can damage this card or significantly shorten its lifespan on stock volts, especially that temps don't rise when you overclock (maybe by 1 deg or something). It's free performance, so why not use it? Plus, a 970 at this clock can probably beat the 780ti in most games. It's Overclockers UK, innit?:D

Quick warning if anyone is looking to get the Zotak Amp Extreme, they're too big to run in SLI on an Asus x99 board. I originally ordered two but one was out of stock so got a Gigabyte G1 Gaming instead of the second Zotak. I then found out about the current issues with running two different branded GTX970's so have sent the Zotak back and am waiting on a second Gigabyte G1 Gaming card.

While waiting for the second card I've been toying with overclocking the G1, managed to get +171 GPU Clock and +700Mhz Mem Clock and things are still stable in everything I've tested it in. Temps are coming in at around 65C. This is at stock voltage. Overclocking like a dream.

In tomb raider i only get an increase of 10 average fps with 970 sli vs single 970, did i just waste my money?

i max out all the settings on 1440p with sli and still lag

Curious as to what people are getting out of their cards.

I have a MSI 970 Gaming.

Currently I have it at 1504Mhz with no additional Core Voltage. I haven't touched the memory yet.

Simply upped the power limit in MSI to 110 and increased the core clock by 150. Card reaches 70 Deg C.

Is there any gain on these with increasing the voltage? What realistically are you guys getting for overclocks? Just wondering if I will get much more out of it and if the voltage increase will help any?

thanks!

I've managed to get to 1554 and 300 on the memory. But I noticed in game the core would sometimes drop to 1530ish and back up.

I took the memory clock off altogether and dropped the core to 1504 and it's all nice and stable in games etc.

Quite impressed with these cards.

prolly hitting tdp or temp limit. 1500mhz sounds like a great o/c to me, especially if that's 24/7 stable. there are some gains with voltage, generally not huge though. seems to be around 50mhz mostly?

1522mhz on the Strix, stock volts. Stable in everything I throw at it so I don't know if it's the limit, I just don't plan to push it any further. You got a very good OC, personally I wouldn't bother with upping the voltage (anything over 1500mhz is just for willy-waving;p) Besides, I've heard that tinkering with voltage gets you nowhere on these cards. If you hit a wall when pushing the core clock, that's usually the end of the line. As for the memory, performance gains will hardly be noticeable so you might as well leave it at stock. No point in stressing the chips if you won't notice any difference.

Bugger, just ordered two Galax Ex OC, but didn't think about possible warranty replacements...

Does anyone know if OCUK handle the warranty on these cards?

If not, should I change for MSI or Gigabyte?

I'm sure Ocuk deal with the duration of the warranty on the Galax cards. Make a post in CS for confirmation.

They deal with first year... what is not clear to me is how returns are handled after that.

The warranty page says that KFA2 and galaxy merged, and Galax cards here go to the UK based KFA2 rma base.

If that is the case, then that will do fine, but if returns go to the states after that, not so much...
