NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

well, I just installed my card and waited 24hours for farcry4 to download (live in somerset, terrible internet!)

I just tried running the game on high settings and I must say I am very disappointed with the performance. There was noticeable fps lag (I am unsure what the actual figure was). I was expecting this card to run far cry with no issues what so ever.

Am I doing something horribly wrong or do I need to change any settings or anything? Any help would be appreciated.

PC specs:

i7 4770k
8gb team red vulcan ram
samsung 840 evo
Gigabyte gtx 970
benq2420t

I took one 970 out and the stuttering doesn't seem to be as bad.
Still annoying when you aim at someone then it stutters and you die...

Hi guys did they ever manage to fix the issue were the 1 fan sepeds up and does not slow down till you spin the other fan by hand.

Only its starting to do my head in a little now.

The answer was some posts below on that thread:

Reverting to driver 344.48 solves the problems I had. Seems like a bug in latest/greatest 344.60."

I had ridonkulous stutterting with my 680s in SLI and switching back to the 344s solved it for me. Would recommend you do the same.

I tried those drivers and still had stuttering.

Just put my 290 back in and it's smooth running.

Nevermind, back to stuttering. Advanced Warfare runs completely different every game...

Really can't see 970 coming down in price. Especially the big 4 brands.

I also dont understand how the strix seems to always be more than the gig. I'd opt for the gig all day long.

If you increase volts the card will probably clock higher.

Overclocking with stock volts is fine but the card will limit the clock automatically.
