Strange one and ive no idea tbh. Whilst my cards do have display port my monitor is from a bygone era when HDMI was just introduced.

There's a known issue with DisplayPort, there's a large thread on the NVIDIA forums about it.

Yep I just spent the whole day messing about with my PC to try and solve the issue. Reinstalled Windows several times and eventually bought a new motherboard as I assumed it was knackered

The way it's meant to be played.

My 1440p monitor is on displayport and it works during the boot up. As does my second display on DVI.

edit:- I lied. It's just the second monitor till the logon screen. Never noticed that before!!

Have you tried the 1440p one on its own?

I remember with my DGM monitors, display port wouldn't allow you to view the posting screen on boot up. That was with 780's & Titans. Just went straight into Windows.

With mine using display port actually prevents my pc from posting.
Though this only happens with nvidia drivers installed.

Something a miss there. Why are you wanting to use DP out of interest. Are you having the same issues with DVI?

DVI works perfectly.
Well I had a displayport at hand so that's just what I was using.
But if I bought a monitor without DVI I would be pretty screwed.

So a DP conflict. Problem will be at driver level.

Just joined the club with an Asus Strix 970. Boosting to 1519 on the core. Haven't touched the mem or voltage yet. Every game including benchmarks are stable apart from dota 2. Any tips?

thought i would add my two penneth worth in

on my gtx 970 msi g1 gaming and its RUBBISH 110% power limiter

i can only get a stable 1513mhz gpu boost on core
but (ONLY STABLE FOR 10-14 MINS) i managed to get +557 yes +557 on the memory

As for stable perm +490

Can't see how it is a driver problem if it is happening before Windows loads the driver? Would have thought it is a VBIOS issue then.

That's what I thought, but if I uninstall Nvidia drivers it seems to work. Or at least it did the one time I tried it.

Its possibly a little of both, mine is mostly ok with 344.16 drivers, any newer drivers its worse.

Use the custom bios then

Oh and anything over 1500mhz core is pretty decent!

Just tried it. The screen works as normal when on its own.
Logo - bios - windows loading - logon screen.

Hm pretty odd, I wonder why mine doesn't work. Do you have the latest drivers installed?
