if you click on quality, a drop down box shows high quality but I am using dvi so cant comment on hdmi
Well I based my comment on this and other previous Nvidia guides.
Read down to the Far Cry 4 Optimal Playable Settings bit:
"If you do like fiddling, here are game setting recommendations for vast array of NVIDIA GPUs, with the aim of maintaining at least forty frames per second at all times at 1920x1080, the most popular gaming resolution."
Indeed you are right. I read 1920x1080 as 1200p....
no i just have a slider performance or quality. im on dvi

Picked up 2x Asus GTX970 Strix cards today. They seem really nice, good build quality, smart look that would fit most build colour combos.
I also like that it uses a single 8pin power adapter, means less cables in the case. Also not sure if all 970's are the same but it seems the voltage is fixed at 1.212v as no matter what i change they stay at that.
Well tell a lie, 1 is at 1.187v and the other is at 1.212v and no changing of the voltage in MSI Afterburner alters it. What i ended up doing is lowering the 1.187v cards overclock by 1 compared to the other card and then they both run at 1.212v.
I have both running 1509MHz boost on the core and 8012Mhz on the memory. They run below 70c and are within the 120 power limit.
There's a bug in the drivers that prevents cards in SLI from running at the same voltage.
The slave cards always run at a lower voltage compared to the primary card, this limits clocks.
Can not believe after all this time this bug has not been fixed with new Firmware or Drivers.
