NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

Im surprised as going 970 sli is one of the better choices ive made. Its far from perfect but one 970 still holds up well for games that sli has issues with.

Seems to me Nvidia need to pull their fingers out in getting these SLI issues resolved. Still no DSR, numerous games that run better with a single card... unacceptable for a company with their resources and for a card that's been out not far off 6 months!! What the hell are they doing with all the money they've made from the record-breaking sales? Off buying helicopters and Bugatti's methinks!

"Far from perfect" for many is just the same as "not good enough", can't say I disagree, especially given the hype and reviews of these cards that many based their purchase on.

I am not disappointed with mine, the Gigabyte G1's are good cards but if I can get back enough of what I paid for them I won’t be sad to see them go either.

I like to tweak and play around with my computer as much as anyone, but I like to do it to make things better, not get it running as it should have out of the box.

Regarding the issue with DSR and sli, iirc it's only a problem if your also using gsync. DSR has been great here on a standard monitor.

Its not just sli. some games run good with my 970 and some are just sh@. At the moment im playing tomb rader which plays well. try it with ArmaIII and its terrable, my 7950 used to run this no problem.

Loads of people are p!ss3d off with them on the Geforce forums. One Mod keeps saying its down to cpu bottlenecks, even with i5/7s. i just hope more people keep posting on there forums to put the pressure on to get these cards running in games like they do in benchmarking.

Always thought my GALAX EX OC ran a little hotter than everyone else (78 degrees under full load), but just today I put it back to stock speeds and its now only pushing 62 degrees max. Given that I am gaming at 60fps and 1080p.. I might just leave it like that. No need to push the OCing just yet when everything runs maxed perfectly.

I think this is yet another example of a much more pervasive industry-wide problem... releasing products before they are truly ready and/or without the necessary support structure going forward. We've seen it with games, monitors, GPU's, motherboards... you name it. Far too much focus on PROFIT over true customer satisfaction. I fear it will only get worse. :(

Upgraded to a 970 HOF from at 460 Hawk today, and it's absolutely fantastic. I don't really play any games released in the past 2 years or so, but everything I've thrown at it so far has been excellent at 1440p.

Looks great, performs incredibly and is whisper quiet. Thumbs up from me! Glad to be with the times for a change!
