Maybe the KFA2 Hall of Fame Edition, but I'm quite certain the G1's aren't cherry picked. There's usually a substantial price increase for cherry picked cards.

Now that you mentioned it, it seems this "G1 Gaming rocks cherry picked cores" -mantra seems to be doing the rounds in the web with very little to substantiate it; it's been made to seem like Gigabyte has actually confirmed it, but if they have, the original source seems really well hidden.

Any comments on the Asus Dark Edition linked above? Yay/nay? I'm not a huge fan of Asus's but the specs of that card do speak to me.

Always seems to be a premium with ASUS cards or anything ASUS tbh, particularly any "special" models and the boost clock on that card seems pretty low compared to others.

For overclocking it's pretty much luck of the draw unless you can actually find out whether some cards are cherry picked.

Temps will depend on board spacing, case airflow. X2 wf cooled cards in sli aren't ideal if the aforementioned aren't good, based on my experience with 3 generations of theese cards in sli.

Im hoping the fact these cards run cooler over all will mean they will be cooler in SLI than my 670's did.

Just had an extended session on the Witcher 3. At 1200p with everything maxed/on the game is running brilliant on one 970. May not need a second card. This is with a 3570k too.

^^ A 970 is what I might upgrade to, or instead maybe a 980 once the 390 series / 980ti has shaken things up a little.

Without giving too much of my review away Arc, I have been gaming on it at 1440P and somewhat shocked at how well it performs (in a good way).

I bought a Zotac 970 and found the fan to be noisier than previous generation blower fans even at idle. Has anyone else noticed this or do I just have a card with a faulty fan?

It's held upright as I have it installed in an FT02 case but it just was unbearable hearing it above all the fans while just browsing the internet.

Which Zotac, they have a gazillion and one models in their GTX 970 lineup.

The Amp! Extreme Core Edition is one of the best, most powerful, most whisper-quiet models across all manufacturers, while the silly little one that sells for the equivalent of £220 in the Eurozone is probably utter poo.

I got the standard one with their blower fan (ZT-90105-10P), I've always had the normal blower slot cards to shift the heat out of the case. They've always been silent until I got this one

Well I literally bought it, put my card details in etc... then it went through to the credit card verification part and my password I have at home (at work atm) was wasn’t able to buy another 970 in the end.

Still 50/50 if it's a good wise decision. I’m only at 1200p. Witcher 3 even on all maxed out seems fine, even if frames are 35-45fps.

Arkham Knight is making think that asingle 970 wont cut it tho, but then im worried that DX12 is going to shake things up a bit, and going SLI is not the most cost efficient thing to do.
