Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

Is there any way I can have Afterburner allow my card more volts? I'm almost touching 1600 on the core, but I'm running out of volts for stability.

Power usage is at around 65% and temperature is in the 60's on air, so I'm sure it's just more volts that this card needs.

Is it that simple, or do I need a BIOS mod to get the extra V's?

Edited the power limiter in BIOS and lowered the volts in MSI, now just getting VREL, no throttling yet.

53C : 50% fan speed

I was getting 69C at the same point 90% fan speed on the SOC, however still testing for stability. Nothing is certain

First impressions good then Neil?

So far yes, but I really need to play some games instead of benchmarking. Give it a week then come back to it if need be. If I need to hit the 1600's it needs more volts, but for now if this stays stable, this will do perfectly

Here's the latest run, check out the temps

KFA 2 980 GTX SOC = 75C 90% Fan Speed
EVGA 980 GTX SC = 54-56C 55% Fan Speed

Do I have to individually copy every single table and paste it into my own BIOS? Or just the clockspeed and voltage tables?

If you're referring to the overclock.net bios dude I really wouldn't bother. Just increase your voltage table, clock voltages as well as power target. Saying that, It's only worth increasing the voltage if you need to.

You are one happy boy than Neil? :).

Looking forward to my FTW turning up tomorrow. The only problem is, I've got to prep for an Exam so can't really play too much. Having said that, bet I do.

I'm not happy until a week or two has passed ;)

Still getting the VREL/VROP which is annoying, although I haven't tested two games yet which used to throttle.

Hey Neil,

Any chance of a modded bios for my evga 980 SC, under water so maybe I can push it a bit with a decent bios. I can currently get 1500/1838, but voltage is crapping out on me.
