Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

Its not quite that straight forward with mine as apart from one row they are set to 1.262v already yet the card is only using 1.206v whether its 1392mhz or 1542mhz core.

As it is a voltage range from say 1.206v - 1.262v you will need to set the top sliders minimum values to 1.262v if you want to force this voltage.

If 1542 core is your max stable core clock this should appear as #74 on your boost table. Your voltage table for CLK 74 should read 1.262v - 1.262v.

Do you guys think it's worth firing up nvflash to see if it will read the EEPROM and maybe try to flash the stock rom from BIOS two?

It might be an idea to boot the system up from the bios, switch it to the other one then nvflash it. But as I've never tried it I don't know

I think my Card it bust. The FTW has two BIOS's. I switched to BIOS 2, as EVGA say it may be a performance BIOS but I saw no difference with it. So powered the machine down, moved the DIP Switch back to the primary BIOS and the Card no longer Posts. I'm not sure what has happened there, but looks like the BIOS is now corrupt.

I would leave the switch in it's default position, unplug the display cable and use the onboard HDMI and your iGPU to boot into windows with the card plugged in and powered up. Disable the card in device manager and flash back your original bios from there.

I'm running a P67 chipset so can't use the on board GPU. What I can do is use the GPU from my Mrs machine and give it ago.

Thanks for your help.

Hmm do I have to have disabled boost can I not just clock it up manually with the 1.275v voltages set?

Here you go Neil see how you get on with this. Boost is still enabled with up to 1.275v unlocked. As you said you will need to set the voltage to 1.275v to make use of the 1544.5 core speed. The disadvantage to this is your memory may be unstable at lower clocks as it does not force 1.275v. If your memory is stable 4040 at stock voltage then you shouldn't have a problem.

I have also adjusted your fan profile which should help with temps. Try benching or running a game without manually setting your fan speed in AB and see how it goes :)

I'll do another bios for you with just the voltage so you can clock up manually if you want to.

Got a new high score in Heaven though using my current modified bios, just increased the clocks slightly.
