How did you get on?
Hey thanks, i re-installed the drivers and that resolved the issue

How did you get on?
Sorry, must have missed that.
Capped to 1212mv but it did clock to 1450 on that.
No problem, thanks. Was that a flaw specific to your model? Some one else reported the same on the EVGA forums. I don't understand why anyone would choose a FTW over an SC if it really is capped. I recently made the choice between these two models and since the FTW has only 1 display port and a lack of reviews I chose the SC.
My SC goes past 1500 comfortably in benchmarks at stock voltage.
The SC has a higher voltage referenced in the BIOS Stock. I can't remember what it is but I'm sure Neil can.
Well its no surprise, BF4 at 60 fps solid with the 2 cards in SLI on the Samsung Superwide
Hi all. So I have been playing around on heaven 4.0 for the last 6 hours now trying to get a sweet spot with my 2 kaf2 gtx 980s.Best score without hitting the throttle point was 3187 my cpu is at 4.2 hz.
The best I seem to be able to get is the boost clock to 1459 mem at 3800. Thats with no extra voltage power limit at 122% 130 cc and 350 on the mem in afterburner.
I seem to be hovering at 79 degrees on the top card with this set up so I dont throttle the bottom card is 68. Its so annoying as the cards are stable at 150 but the temps push over to 82-84 and I cant touch the voltage at all as I hit the throttle point and see the clocks drop down.
I have the phantom 630 case with 2 120 mm fans in the from 2 140 on the room for the cpu cooler and a 140 at the back. Also I have a 200 mm side fan and in a desperate attempt I even zip tied a 120mm high pressure fan next to the 2 gpus to try and cool the top 1 off!
Apart from going to the water route can anyone suggest a way that I might be able to control the heat a bit so I can try and push these cards?

As I said awhile ago, the KFA2 GTX 980's are awful for temps, they use cheap fans, naff cooling. You can pretty much knock 30C off those temps with an EVGA 980
^
Ditto!
I bloody wish I had know that before hand . Might replacing the fans on the gpus with another set up be worth while?Bloody shame the g10 kraken wont fit them
Anyone know if the cooler off another brand of 980 would fit the KFA2 SOC? or an aftermarket jobbie of some sort
Not sure, but when I asked about coolers for the KFA2, they said it voids your warrenty
I bet the G10's will. I made them fit my small size PCB 970's. Temps were amazing.
I still have the two G10's was wondering whether to try one on my 980 as its a reference PCB and will probably fit no probs.
Oh hi.
