Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

Wesley: DSR is officially (via Manuel G @ Nvidia) not working with SLI, un-officially it works for some people.

Just thought I would highlight that I just registered my EVGA cards and have been informed they have a 5 Years warranty as standard due to a promotion EVGA are running on the 970 and 980 cards.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Remember the G1 is non reference and has a beefed up power supply. I can tell from using it for a bit that the power delivery acts differently to the reference.

can someone recommend a core clock and memory clock base to start off with on the 980 G1.

Im a noob with the voltages so wont be touching them

GTX 980's G1 are stonking, 2 of them SLI very well. Temps on top card still only about 72c on deep soak.

For the first time I can report no microstutter, no jittering or any issues. I really do think Gigabyte have done well by beefing up the VRM/PSU on this, it shows as the TDP on this card is 220W. I tried SLIing 780Ti's and i had issues, but I did have another motherboard at that time.

oc'd with +140MHz and +300MHz on ram.

These cards have lower ASICs of 68-71% which is interesting as this must be what is required to get well clocking cards I have found, leaky as it is referred to I think? Anyway very stable on air and easy overclocker and the cooler works well. No extra voltage applied.

Also Gigabytes fans this time around are MUCH better than the 780ti they did IMHO. Better quality and no noises.

Anyone looking for a card to pick, get the G1.

an interesting Note on DSR
no driver changes

2x 980 running on my my 2560x1080 screen in SLI = Works
2x 980 running on my 2560x1440 screen in SLI = Doesnt work
