Hi again What settings did you use to achieve this and did you use msi afterburner

Want to see what I can get out of my 980 g1

I've got a reference Gigabyte board and a EK waterblock and backplate is coming tomorrow :)

Done some initial clocking and it seems to be a decent board. This is on stock voltage, will push it some more when the block arrives.

Does anyone know where I can get a Gigabyte SC bios to flash to the board

Thanks

Maxwell from my experience so far on reference capabilities doesn't respond anywhere near as well as Kepler does on water. A few high leakage chips might gain a few mhz, but it's early days yet.

With that in mind I think majority of scaling is going to come from the DC2 and Classified cards. The 780Ti Classified wasn't really a must unless you really were going to bench it hard. This time round I think it might just be going back to the old ways of the card to get, period.

My ref EVGA 980 SC can do +50 on air and +90 on a G10 Water cooler.
After that, nothing would make it run faster without glitches even running at 50 degrees full load, maybe it needs a proper water cooling solution sitting at 40 degrees full load.

I am eager to see how my pair of Gigabyte 980 G1 fair up against Gibbo's and others findings. tbh anything up to 1500 is more than enough.

Hmm... not keen on putting another brand's bios on the board. Are there any issues with that.

I'm also having a problem with TechPowerUp GPU-Z

When I try and save the bios from the board by clicking on this icon, my screen goes white and nothing seems to happen. I end up having to hold down the power button to power down the PC. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Issue with GPUz and Maxwell drivers, the is a new GPUz that stops the display driver so it can save the BIOS then restarts it afterwards.

I'm sort of regretting getting the 3 980s I did. Probably would've been better off with AMD cards for 4K, but I had my reasons for getting rid of them too.

Also sort of regretting going 4K at this point, maybe a decent 1440p would've been better.

I'll make do though, for now. I'm trooper like that!

3 reference cards on air run hot though, so haven't tried overclocking. So I'm quite jealous of the OC a lot of you are getting.

I'll WC one day. Probably.

For me it's a no brainer. I its give and take against the 290X and I am drawing around 600W from the wall under-load with 4 cards.

I don't know how its been done.

And its not just the draw either, my loop would not be able to handle the heat 3 290x cards would produce, never mind 4.
