Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

My card has arrived, and the I/O plate is bent.

:( Think you need to resize those images mate!

Still waiting for mine, managed to get daughter picked up from school by the neighbour so I can be in when it arrives :D

Images resized.

I can only get one fixing screw in, and it sits at a downward slope.

Ugh! Will need to RMA.

Just get a pair of pliers, Put a tea towel around the teeth so you don't leave marks and bend it into it's correct position, I've had to do it once before, Much easier than going through the ball ache of RMA'ing :)

I have a question about my Gigabyte G1 Gaming Edition 980, and hopefully it's not too stoopid!

It's a three-fan setup, but so far I have only ever seen two of them spinning. The card does seem to run pretty cool so maybe it's a power/noise-saving measure, but this is even when I'm running benchmarks and stuff like Shadow of Mordor in top detail at 2560x1600.

I wouldn't be that bothered but I bought it from OCUK as b-grade stock so the warranty is fairly short (great price though, had to do it). Which means I need to know sooner rather than later if there's a fault! Is there some diagnostics software or something I can do to set them all spinning?

Will try that as the card appears to work perfectly. I really don't want to go through the pain of RMA.

Strix 980 or Galax 980 - I CANT DECIDE.

I love the Strix - its so beautiful and quiet. But the Galax deal is so damn good. £70 cheaper...

If its the fan next to where the display cables fit then it's more then likely the fan is faulty. Happened to me on a r9 290x and had to rma

Sounds faulty, my old 970 g1's all three fans would spin

Thanks guys. It's the fan at the other end actually, where the power cables enter the card. Sounds like I'll have to raise it with the RMA folks :(

Got gtx 980 ASIC 75.2% 1500mhz/1975mhz stable with 1.218v

Can someone tell me how to change bios and go over 1500mhz?

What is safe maximum temp and voltage for gtx980

does anybody own a Inno3D GTX 980 "iChill Herculez X4 Air Boss Ultra" and over clocked it?

I can get a stable OC at 1417/1518 with a max temp at 68c

This is with a Core clock at 151 and Memory at 210.

However 152 and get a driver crash every time.

I am not very apt at OC so might be missing something. or lots... or just a noob... or all three.

Had my KFA2 card delivered this morning. Only just installed it, which was a bit of a mare.....just because had so much cables and junk in there and had to move drives around (12 in there in total) (which wouldn't reach so had to rewire etc)

Ok so all installed, fired up and installed latest Nvidia drivers and MSI Afterburner

So far it appears to be much quieter than my 570 which got noisy when playing. MSI Afterburner is reporting it running at 29c idle

Ok here's where I come across very stupid :) How do I "enable boost" as people have said - ie when theirs have been said to become noisy?
