Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

Finally ordered all my components. Originally had 2 x 970's on the order, but then with the info that came out around the 3.5gb vram limit, changed the order to 2 x 980's !!

I had wondered about this, but then I'm thinking where did that leave the price of the next GTX card? And, if we get a £300 980, does that mean we're getting a £200 970? Where would that leave the 960?

I don't think we'll see a big price reduction, but I could be wrong. It really depends on sales as well as what AMD bring out.
 
i would not worry to much about 970/980 prices, if the amd card is a monster it will be priced accordingly, i still remember 7970's going for £500

I wouldn't think of it as plummeting but I really do hope that AMD can pull something off which doesn't run too hot. demand too much power, runs reasonably cool and would be a worthy upgrade over a 980 GTX - we shall see, or maybe not.

If you have been in the PC hardware scene for long enough you do get to understand that hardware at the cutting edge always comes at a premium, until the next gen comes out. Then again that is similar for games etc.


My KAF2 980 is due for delivery this morning, hopefully should be a good one :)

Haha - well its 90% done.

No SSD's in it yet ( as they are in my current rig )

Just waiting for the CPU cooler :-( Ordered a H105 from OcUK but was out of stock, so sourced a H110i GT from somewhere else - should be delivered today :P
