My single 980 is fine at 3440x1440 so I'd have thought at 1440p it would be fine.
Hi there Could i ask what monitor you are using and what games you play at that res and with what settings please ? I'm thinking of going to that res but it would be usefull to know beforehand what sort of fps you get at what settings ect. Cheers !
It seems to boost to around 1490 on the core and 1750 or so on the memory. I can get 1630/2030 ish when benchmarking but no need for games.
Tell me about it.. My SOC card had an 80% asic rating, but I had to return it due to high temps even at stock speedsI really don't want to return my GTX 980 SOC, especially as they are now out of stock, there must be an aftermarket cooler for it somewhere?
Damn thats one hell of a 980 you got there ! I should be absolutely fine with 2 hof's then and thankyou very much for the info you have convinced me to go for it
Purchased a single 980 Gigabyte card yesterday with a I7 4790K 4.5GHz with Motherboard and RAM and a 1000W Evga PSU as partly recommended by some very nice users on the forum.
Definitely enough for SLI. I made a decision yesterday not to order a second due to it surpassing my initial budget on the hardware front. Then I took another look at things and thought should I just order the second as I've already spent loads anyway, to get the maximum performance from my machine.
Is the SLI option definitely worth it? Looking to play and record footage at 60 FPS with my 1440P screen. My only sticking point apart from the increased budget is how long can the SLI 980 setup last? Is waiting for a reduced price or even waiting for the new cards to hit the market a sensible option?. Not AMD the next NVIDIA cards.
Help appreciated as always.

Ouch, what were your temps?
It was hitting upper 70's with high fan speeds at stock clocksOuch, what were your temps?
EVGA warranties are being bumped to 5 years at the moment.
Good to know, they always were brilliant with the length of their warrantys... Shame their cards don't come with a backplate, only the FTW & classified do
I do find their coolers lacking compared to other brands, I don't know if it the plastic cover but I'm sure the heatsink under it is good !
I'll add that to the watch list...
