** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES NOW ONLINE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (3090 / 3080 / 3070) **

the VFM has gone out of the window then :D
I didn't mind helping to fund Gibbo's Ferrari in a small way, but not at these hikes.
FE under water might be the way to go. ... EK won't be able to make blocks fast enough I reckon

Need to help boost his pension fund to the £700k level he wants (recent post), best get them orders in!

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, Let's tell the world we've made a super duper fast GPU at a super duper price but lets not tell them we are only making about 3000 of them and then charge the AIBs +200 and let them deal with the retailers, Happy days said the big green greedy giant :D

Thinking about that you could get away with that. They could sell 3000 cards for £350 as FE at a loss but actaully sell them to AIBs for £650 and then shrug when the cards all come out between £800 and £1000.

In this case though from rumours I have seen, Nvidia have charged a fortune for the reference board plus gpu which is why so many AIB arent doing a reference board and have made their own board this time so their might be some truth is what you say..........

Interesting how rushed this seems tbh, the staggered release of each card, seemingly no stock, and almost ignoring entire first world regions, and no promise of a resupply after initial shipment. Either very effective artificial scarcity tactics or just bumrushed.

It's a bit reminiscent of the initial low price AMD release we had that they got slated for, the first run was cheaper and then price went up.

When you think about it's why you can never get an FE at least in the long term, Why would they if an AIB can charge you more and take the headache away from Nvidia, As far as I'm concerned they will deliberately make as little FE as possible, it's not in their interest at £650.

I can't imagine any retailer sells a product which they don't know the trade price. So retailers will know how much they've paid for the stock or will have pay once the stock is shifted.

So in reality retailers could all tell us last week how much they would be selling 3080's for. Unless of course they are gouging and pricing accordingly.

But according to Nvidia and the rest of the world there's always a heavy demand lol, funny isn't it how mobile phone manufactures seem to increase production and don't inflate prices, There's literally millions of new mobile phones sold each year and yet the price they said initially is the price you pay.

It says a lot about Nvidias practises, is it any wonder their shares are at the moon.

For some reason with GPUs there's always a shortage, I call ******** on that, it's called deliberate manufacturing numbers and pass the boards on to the AIB with the headache.

Truth is that, They don't want to keep excess stock of GPU A so keep the price of that one in check whereas GPU B could be very popular and the stock is already sold what we managed to get so we'll raise the price of GPU B.

If mobile phone manufacturers licensed their tech out to third party manufacturers, allowing tweaks you can bet there would be some gouging for certain editions.
