NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

No excuse other than you'd rather not erode your margin on scaling costs, when, let's face it your website will still sell out when back online and you'd rather pocket the £XXk that you'd need to spend at peak to maintain good UX.

You’d only need to scale for 15-30 minutes and the premium charged on the cards here would more than pay for that.

There’s also the unquantifiable cost of lost business through suboptimal customer experience - over a measured timeline people always go to the website that worked for them in future when the next drop happens.

Assuming you ordered from the other place, find the follow up email with your invoice and hit the online order tracking link and there’s a queue position button on that webpage.

Cheers mate , found the live tracking which wasn't there earlier.... anyway position 122 for the Astral with no current eta .

Position 120.

Hope it’s not as bad as the 30 series launch where initial shipments were only 1-2 per week for EVGA and other brands.

Jesus wept.
position125... estimated delivery 4th may
Well, it could be worse I suppose, I know I have one incoming, unlike the 3080 years ago where I spent months tracking websites etc.
That was horrific.
Just hope I chose the right one now. (Palit gamerock, only one review which seems ok, just a shorter warranty)
which card?

ooh hope so. I think everyone should cancel their preorder of the Palit tbh and get other brands. that plexi glass ARGB front... nasty, tacky even. Everyone cancel ok and spread the word. /s

I was hoping the temps and fan noise would be enough to keep folk away from the 5090 Astral but clearly 185 people are as dumb as I am

different cards will have different stocks though. Mine is a Palit, Asus and Gigabyte could well have more cause they are a bigger company, but then again they probably have way more orders as well...

I was hoping the same, that it was just a "it might be april, but hopefully sooner"

It actually said March when I preordered. :(
A lot of the other cards said May straight from the get go on their website though which wasn't inspiring either haha.

I did expect CNY to be a factor but maybe not this much. Seems like Nvidia just hasn't been manufacturing as long as we thought. Makes you wonder what they were doing when they stopped production on the 4090.

The 40 series was much, much quicker so I expect the 50 series to be the same.

I imagine there won’t be any movement whatsoever until Chinese New Year is over and manufacturing starts again. So that’s a two week delay or something straight away.

Just here to say cheerio. Have been coming to OCUK for near two decades for my PC bits, but the way they ran this launch, and continue to price their GPUs, means I'll never be buying from them again. You can say it's just good business to charge what people will pay but it's actually not. Gouging loyal customers for hundreds of extra £s per card is simply not something competitors are doing, but OCUK is. I wish it weren't so, but OCUK has run this show like it's dealing dodgy watches out the back of a van, not as a professional retailer with flat, fair pricing. They've pumped their pricing because they can, and with nary a concern for any of us. IT IS NOT OKAY. And well, you reap what you sow, and I'm outta here, happy I got my card for substantially less elsewhere. So long all.
