NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Oh and is anyone else having the same issue I’m having with add to basket then sold out?
Yes, it says in stock, but it's not actually in stock. Same thing happened with previous "hot item" lauches. It's either a matter of the platform being janky, or worse, admins are keeping the in stock button displayed to keep people's attention.

Possible that it's in someone else's basket?

Hmm, work aren't going to be happy.
I made an excuse to work from home today and now I need to work from home tomorrow as well to wait for the delivery.

They don't like people working from home more than once or twice a week and tomorrow will be a 3rd day

Just tell them you have explosive diarrhoea

“… if you know what I mean.”

The boss of @no_1_dave after a very long pause on the phone: “…… yes. I know what you mean.”

That’s with a third party cable like cablemod then right? I have x2 8 pin with the 4090 and thinking x4 might be the way to go.
That’s the cable I brought for my 4090 with 4x8pin and I planning of using it with the 5090.

I sent an email to cablemod asking if this cable I have is still safe to use on the 5090 or have they changed anything in the newer cables.

If anything interesting, I will report back.

Cablemod told me to upgrade the cable but only noted connector changes when I pressed them. I also use a decent atx2.0 1200w ASUS psu which means I am confined to using 8 pin rather than anything native or H++.

Anyone want to congratulate me on my 1000th post? I am sure most of them were absolute drivel but I love this forum.

Yeah I tried it and while it reduced the frequency of the crashing still didn't help.. deffo not alone on this issue as it seems quite common.
looking about, people have fixed the issue turning reflex off when using in game frame rate limiters.. hmmm

It truly stuns me as to why there is demand for a used GPU at over the original RRP...when said GPU has been readily available for RRP for absolutely ages ..

The world is losing its collective mind, I swear.

I hear you, just wait a little longer and the bum will fall out the used GPU market. A 5080Ti release will drop the price of used 4090s to around £1k, where they rightfully should be. Nvidia want you to have the mental turmoil of choosing a new shiny 5080 or slightly better used and dirty 4090 :D .

That was a problem on the Indiana Jones game a month or so ago until the game was patched.

Why would Nvidia launch a 5080ti when they got people paying up to £1800 for a 5070 5080

To pull in the people that waited and didn't want to pay £2800 for a 5090 or overpay for a pseudo 5070.

The difference in price between the 5080 and 5090 should be coined as The Gulf of Nvidia, in which a submarine codenamed 5080Ti lurks below the surface.
