Obsidian New RPG Avowed

Yes

There are other scenes as well

Thanks for the video link. It doesn't feel preachy to me, but felt a bit forced how a different character decided to correct you. Poorly written and presented is mostly how it comes across for me. The barv thing also never felt preachy to me (IIRC), it seemed like a nice addition to the lore about how an apology has to mean something. If they didn't use it elsewhere, I feel like they missed a trick. Could have had an minor clumsy NPC decide they like the idea and that they'd copy it, then have them make an appearance at the end/later on and make them much bigger because they keep breaking things

Makes me think of the scene in the latest top gun film where if they lose to maverick in a dog fight they end up doing push ups.

Surprised this isn't getting more hype/conversation (beyond tedious culture war nonsense..).

Looks like it might be really good. The latest vids and screens look brilliant.

Quite looking forward to it actually.

Well it's out today and the reviews seem to be OK.

I've got it installed and will play this evening and hope I like it.

MattyPlays found it underwhelming, my tastes generally fall in line with his so I'll hang fire on this one.

I'm not discounting it entirely, but I'm leaning toward a future hefty sale once the game is DLC complete I think. Will be keeping an eye on player impressions during the early access regardless.

It looks alright but it's going to take a lot more than alright to get me to buy a game on release these days, if at all.

That said, I'll have the free 2-hour demo on Steam and then see if it's worth paying a month of game pass for

Without really thinking i thought there was an actual demo on steam and i went on to look for it...

At this stage I honestly don’t pre-order or buy any games on release, quite happy to let the game get patched and modded and then check it out.

That's the sensible option rather than paying these publishers so you can fix their games for them by testing (Stalker 2 etc)

Missed any hype or controversy with this so looking with fresh eyes. It looks pretty good, condensed skyrim with what looks like a much better combat system
Do Obsidian usually support game mods?

I've played a couple of hours now and so far so good, took a bit to get used to the keybinds etc.

It runs pretty well but isn't the most demanding of visuals.

watching some streams, some of the tileset looks shared with Enshrouded. The AI also looks really dumb, like getting stuck on terain and can just cheese stuff
