Obsidian New RPG Avowed

No successful game of late seems to have these sort of controversies surrounding them.

Didn't BG3 have a fair bit of controversy surrounding it, and yet it still went down as one of the most successful games of the last few years?

A lot of these games that people consider unsuccessful because of DEI and so on would have been just as bad if those "woke" elements had been removed. You can't polish a turd.

I bet a lot of people in here were complaining a decade ago about the inclusion of gay romance and characters in mass effetc 3.

You are a Don here. I’m not going to get into an argument on this here with you because there is an imbalance of power.

It is racist to say there are *too many* white people or too many black people in an industry. This is what he said.

If you can’t understand that then that is your lookout.

I want to be clear at the start, I don't appreciate the implication I'd abuse my mod status in a discussion. I've gotten into it with @arknor and @JonRGV250 on the Dragon age thread and I've not punished them for having a difference of opinion.

That's really not cool.

I honestly don't even read names or take notice of who I'm replying to 80% of the time
OCUK is one of the few places mods are still old fashioned and enforce the rules, not their opinions

Homosexual romance options have been possible in Bioware games since at least the 00's, they were possible in Dragon Age Origins at the minimum. People generally didn't care because they didn't take a very prominent position in the game much like any of the other romance options.

I did get annoyed by them in DA2 because of the pretty drastic personality shift with Anders after the expansion for the first game, coupled with the fact he reacted negatively to you turning him down in a scene that was unskippable. I found it poorly written and frankly distasteful. I wasn't keen on ME3 but that had nothing to do with gay characters.

People generally aren't against gay characters or romance, they're against hamfisted over representation.

They have his priority because they are under-represented and he is trying to offer advice and help to them. He's not saying he won't hire white people or help them. I don't get how such a genuine offer of help to a certain group is been construed as a bad thing. Im assuming you are a white guy who hasnt faced adversity based on his skin colour or had difficulty fitting into a workplace before been a minority etc.
Yes, I know.
My point was he should be a bit more careful how he words things.
But tbh he’s already said that he wanted so badly to make Elon mad at the game.
I mean why? What possible outcome does he expect? Publicity maybe, but we’ve seen how that went down like a cup of cold sick with the Jag advert.

Rather than throw out straw mans, have a look into the Cass report and then consider whether people might have some legitmacy in questioning transgenderism and why there's a need to push it into media.

As a follower of Billboard Chris and others who travel far and wide to educate people on the harms gender ideology can do to young vulnerable people, I can fully see why it needs to be questioned.
One poster called some of us (I presume)in this thread “***** **** ****” which is neither helpful or achieves anything other than showing their ignorance.

That was me. The post was deleted by a mod, but thanks for bringing it to light again. Appreciated! Of course Jokester's use of "blue haired bigots and groomers" remains for all to see.

Going off topic here now, but do you think 18 year olds aren't making these kinds of decisions with their bodies and then massively regretting it once they've older and realised that they were just gay or what ever?
I’ve seen the interviews with them and how they were “talked” for want of a better word into transitioning, also the pressure put on the parents should mean a jail sentence for those involved and maybe will in the US.
There are lawsuits going on.
