Well here goes my effort, i am sure the stuff i have done will make the people who actually know what there doing cringe. I am very much a novice.

Oh cooling is a H50, with twin vipers push pull.

I really love the idea of this competition. It really is a competition and not just a 'buy this and you may win' kind of thing. If I had the gear I would definitely take part. Good luck to all those that enter

I shouldn't really say anything as it's me you pushed into second :( and I would love one of the MSI graphics cards but you need to add your CPU-Z validation link. Also your CPU-Z screenshot looks like there is a missing line through it, maybe not rendered fully or if you used Paint or something you maybe painted over that part by mistake.

Yeah, i noticed the image of the screen, damm thing must have gone wonky when i ran the mouse over to reposition a window for the screenie. Will have to look into the CPUZ thingy and do it all again i guess :(

My replacement 2500k is on it's way, my damaged one is being replaced free of charge :) And it was a faulty CPU is all they could tell me and not because of my overclock phew. So will be trying again once I get it all up and running.

What better to look after your current customers ? Something everyone seems to forget these days. Besides you can buy a board and enter, there is nothing stopping you.

Maybe send a mail to gigabyte or whoever it is and say hey look what MSI is doing for there customers, what are you going to do.

Fair play to MSI, i would buy there products again for sure, many boards are so close in specs and performance anyway these sort of things tip the scale. Nothing but sour grapes from some people.

Quick question, "there are no restrictions on cooling method".... Can I get confirmation that Dry Ice / LN2 is allowed? Can anyone join OCUK forums and sign up or is this for existing members only?

With SB processors there is no advantage core speed wise to going with LN2 or even Dry Ice - a good water cooled system will max out all PCU's. I benched WPrime 1024 at 5.7GHz on water. Cold does nothing to aid the overclock achieved. Cold might prolong the life of the CPU but that is all. Chilled water would be as good an option.

Question to the organisers. Where is the leader board or a list of submitted results I could not find one.

any cooling method is allowed but as 1Day correctly noted, there no significant advantage to be gained from LN2.

new members are just as welcome as existing :D

no leaderboard yet, but there will be once we have a decent number of starting entries.

@HiVizMan "I bench for BenchTec UK"

Kinda sucks that someone can just join this forum for the sole purpose of winning this competition and posting high overclocks having not contributed or ever likely to contribute anything towards this forum. There should have been a minimum post/time put on this to stop such people IMO. Aw well always the lucky draw to win I suppose

Possibly you assume things which are not quite accurate. But I accept it is a fair comment none the less based on your perspective. As it certainly looks like that I will agree.

Time will certainly show if I have contributed at all.

Right now I can contribute to this contest.

My updated submission and a personal best.

Well it's not very fair to have someone come here just to post for this competition and for the 5ghz + overclock league imo.
