OcUK Health Seekers: Post your progress pics

Mind = blown that you can actually be 55kg @ 5'11". Good on you Illuz if you stick with it you will explode, you're probably the type that can eat and eat and not put on fat so really smash this first year of training and you will transform completely.

There's a difference to bulking and trying to be the new michelin man :D

lol! my maintenance is 2400 i burn 800 everyday bar weekends(reduce my food intake too) and need 500 extra to get anywhere.. still my weight isn't shifting up or down but its as if my BF is dropping and is getting replaced by muscle mass so currently im keeping the same weight yet looking bigger if that makes sense?! :o i cba to care about KG's tho.. its how you look that counts IMO

Having been at the mini strong man event - I have to say that for a bunch of computer based forum there were some pretty awesome physiques around. So much better than the last meet - you can clearly see people making progress. Pics don't really do justice to some of the hard work people have put into their physiques.

Keep it up guys. :)

Usually weigh about 8.5 stone, which is about 55kg right? Need to weigh myself again, I haven't weighed myself after I started the gym. :(

Agreed.

Even though this was the first time meeting everyone, except for Wills, Toby, Scott & Dom there we some mireful gains on show.

Money issues, I can relate :p

As you say, things like the following should be reasonably cheap:

Eggs (get the cheapo ones, it's an eggs, not a gold coin)
Chicken (frozen if needs be, Tesco is the best i've had personally)
Frozen white fish (tesco's again)

Carbs, things like sweet potato is reasonably cheap, along with Rice in the big bags will last a while.

Costco chicken is about £7.20 per kilo and Lidl is £6.98. Decent enough quality as well.

Frozen veg is good too, green beans and broccoli being winners.

Oh and peanut butter. Got to have peanut butter in your life

Edit: just more idea for iluz

Peanut butter yeah? I usually have a lot of broccoli when I eat veg too so that's good!

Thanks again guys, wish I'd found this thread earlier... The shake I've bought is USN Muscle Fuel Anabolic - any good? Tastes alright tbh but makes me a bit bloated...

In a word - Not really.

Go Here and order some whey. Add flavouring if you want. It's higher quality and more importantly, cheaper than the stuff you've bought.

I certainly eat a lot more meals now, before it was just all **** really. As soon as I started hitting the gym I noticed myself needing way more calorie intake, I just started taking shakes post-workout as of yesterday too to help the intake.

Yeah I think I'm gonna try and keep lean. I don't want to be massively ripped like 90% of you guys in here, I don't have the body size or figure for that. I just want to be muscular and toned. :)

"You have a BMR of 1616.68" - So my calorie intake should be about 2500 according to the equation...

**** my BMR is like 2200!

Trust me no matter what you do, you will never end up huge ever. Unless you really, really want to be. But trust me huge > justin beiber any day. You will soon learn this too.

I wouldn't overly worry about what your eating at such a new stage, track your calorie intake to make sure your eating over your calories and sit back and learn. Build your knowledge base up before going crazy, know why your eating certain foods. I can't express how much easier it is over just doing what you hear from friends/forum dudes. An understanding of basics will make you more gains in the gym than anything can.
