Just got to uni and discovered I can't connect to the MineCraft server, probably due to the limitations of the uni network. I'm gutted. I'll continue to pay attention to the thread however and good luck with all those amazing projects, but I won't be on for another 8/9 weeks probably.
I know there is the rule about inactivity but I would appreciate it greatly if my constructions were respected in my absence. My land is the large stone tower on a hill outside spawn, I can mark it on the cartograph if this helps anyone.
Cheers,

Little update on the community spawner for people who aren't on atm (garsands)
I found a nice cliff, someone raped it.
Look, I said I was sorry. Also, I altered the outside and, in my opinion, it looks at the very least better. The outside is finished, the main wall, ect., but the inside is barely started.
Sorry again for taking your mountain, I promise to help you find a new one, and then leave to keep me from ******** things up again.

Can I ask a question? If you found that you were unable to continue to play multiplayer due to theoretical increasing levels of griefing/interference/general nobishness of people as the game becomes more and more popular, and thus harder and harder to keep a lid on managing the community, would you still be able to play single player and get long term enjoyment from that? Or is it multiplayer or nothing?
I don't know what the long term plans are for the game in terms of stuff like being able to protect you gear
harder unless you quite literally lock the server down to specific select people.
depends if he started building on it really...if you can see someones building on the top / side of the mountain, I tend to leave it alone...the whole mountain![]()

I don't know what the long term plans are for the game in terms of stuff like being able to protect you gear and buildings, but from what I can see so far is that as more and more people start to play the game, being able to control what the trouble makers do will become exponentially harder unless you quite literally lock the server down to specific select people. What I'm saying is that will this game eventually kill itself if tools are not made available to properly control what people do? I am talking about non labour intensive tools rather than Admins having to step in to resolve increasing numbers of disputes.
No worries with the ownership mate, may be best if it's done before 7/02/11 though just in case it causes an issue?
You mean like the server is and always has been?
According to the first post there are 183 people of the whitelist, and I assume this will grow and grow. I suppose it is the cynic in me that says one day someone will eventually spack out and cause untold damage before they are ejected as this seems to be the only course of action, i.e. no tools to prevent the damage, apart form this lock command, though I must say I don't recall seeing this mentioned being used anywhere in the thread so far. And of course as petty arguments increase with this number of people, hoping a sole admin can keep on top of problems is optimistic imo. Will it end up like Lord of the Flies?
Every player on this server is being watched & every single block on this server is being watched./rollback 'player' - Rolls back changes made by player since you began watching them (or since the last rollback, whichever was more recent). You'll be notified if there are no changes to be made, or if the player has no log. This will only replace blocks destroyed by the player and remove blocks placed by the player had you been watching those blocks (TNT, bedrock, water, and lava by default).
