I just played with the levels on that image from notch and this should be a bit easier to see:

Looks like he is on a small cloud or something that is flying and leaving a trail behind it.

Transport Balloons/Stations are LIVE!

General layout is as follows:

Maxi will be sorting a carto out asap so you can see then on the actual map. Essentially there are 5 stations that you can use to transport to; travelling from one station to another.

Each station will have 4 balloons, each balloon will tell you how much it costs to travel.
  • White balloons will always return you to the Spawn Station. As a result they are free to travel.
  • Coloured Balloons cost 1 x Coal.

If you travel to a station, get distracted & forget which station you are at ... look at the main strip in the middle. What ever colour that is, that will be the station you are at.

Now you need to hold 1 x coal in your hand.
  • DO NOT hold more than 1 coal as it will take what every qty is in your hand!
  • No refunds are available, so please be very careful!

Next walk into the balloon basket. You need to stand within the red square indicated below!
  • Stand outside of the red square & you will lose your ticket/coal!
  • The best place to stand is near the furnace.
  • Be very careful!

Stand still & wait for the travel counter to start. It will count down how long until you will be teleported to your destination.

Hopefully that helps. If you have any questions just ask. However I will be jumping in bed in a sec so I can get 4-6 hours sleep in before my night shift.

I'll get this put into a doc on the LT site also, but that will likely be tomorrow AM.

NBs:
  • There are currently no other plans to expand this functionality to other builds.
  • If you wish to help light up any dark areas near the stations then let me know. I'll sort some torches out for you. Or if you ask an Maxi or Tefal nicely they maybe able to give you some too. :p
  • The time on the transport countdown is in-game time. Please don't panic you won't be waiting around for 30mins :p, it should be around 10-13seconds, 20 seconds at most.
    Also note that you may arrive at a station & the next transport may be leaving within a few seconds. Just depends if you've managed to time it right :).

Crap sorry that's in-game time. Good job I f5'd once more before heading bed. It's under 20seconds (around 10-13 at most). You could arrive & it only have 2 seconds left before the next balloon departs. ;)
 
Went afk at /spawn and came back to find myself dead in lava and a big creeper hole there!

People need to make sure their builds at spawn at lit correctly! That includes trees!
 
Anyone else getting very very annoyed at Curse for the amount of time it is taking them to get the sites back up. They are probably the biggest gaming site in the world. Considering the sites started to go down on Wednesday this is ridicules.
 
It is a bit stupid how long they are taking... You would have thought they would have some sort of backup to put the site back into a semi-operational status...

The claim that the backup system failed but tbh The size of curse they should have multiple backups not just one.
