If it's anything like most places I've worked at backup is an after thought, fortunately my current manager doesn't think so and we've got a superb backup system in place. Sadly not the case everywhere, especially with web sites and services.

Yeh but curse not lacking in finance department and tbh a company that size should do better the sites are still down. Like toString said they could lose lot business over this.

The main curse site is up but a lot of others are still down I think about 95% are still down and that's a lot considering they run forums for a lot major MMORPGs and games.

You never know someone may have decided to go hack-tastic on them too. The server & server back-ups melting might be their cover story

In all seriousness though, I do hope they get it all sorted soon. I'm sure they're working their ass off to get it fixed, especially knowing just how many people use the sites.

Wonder how much downtime this means for bukkit then They were pretty fast last time, so maybe a day or so. Not looking forward to 1.8 probably going to take 2 weeks or so for the bukkit devs to catch up! Hopefully after that though notch should have some mod apis/working more closely with the bukkit team.
