Official 1.7 piston trailer (which makes it all look really fun!!!)

(don't forget the server won't be updated until you see a post here saying it is, so don't update if you want to still get on the server)

Can we please hold off on 1.7 for a week or two? Just to ensure it's not less stable than 1.6? It took a while for people to realise how bad 1.6 was and by then we'd *just* updated.

In fairness we did wait until it was 1.6.6, which is the current release.

1.7 OUT (but don't update if you want to play on the server!)

Minecraft Beta 1.7
1.7:

+ Added pistons
+ Fire or redstone is now required to trigger TNT
+ Fences can be stacked
+ Added shears
+ Shears can be used to pick up leaf blocks
+ Shears can be used to shear sheep without hurting them
* Sheep no longer drop wool from being punched
- Removed Herobrine

In all seriousness it will probably have to wait until next week at the earliest. I move house tomorrow and won't have proper internet until some time on Monday.

Hopefully Bukkit will be properly updated by then.

Don't forget to swear at them and ask if this means that they're abandoning Bukkit

I guess leaves that are placed by players won't decay. Or you'd have to put a log in the ground, guess will find out soon.
