OcUK Powerlifting Totals

he's just short is all, pics are never relative without a point of comparison. in a pic i look only 'ok' size wise but at 6'2" and 220 im a lot bigger next to some 160lb bb'er. Wardie however may become the Columbu of the forums :D

How are people getting on? For BB bench today I did:

50kg x 10
60kg x 10
65kg x 10
75kg x 3

The set of 65kg for 10 reps equates to a max of 87kg, so I'm pretty sure that next time I'll manage 85kg. What's strange is that I could only do 3 reps with 75kg, giving a max of 79kg. Might have just needed to rest a bit longer between the sets, perhaps?

Need to get a dipping belt because I can do 20 reps on the dip station with just my bodyweight. How much weight would I be able to add and still do 10 reps? 5kg, 10kg?

It's my height mate, i'm a not so massive 5'4" :p

Think i'm getting closer to around 64 now though, i've been increasing the calories a little.

By the time I get to a lean 11 stone i'll probably look quite big, but i'll still be a short and my measurements will never compare to someone who's taller.

My lifts are coming on well, but the poundages are lower. I've gone back to making sure i'm training my muscles and squeezing everything up and using slow negatives.

Stick a DB between your feet and you'll quickly find out. 5 or 10kg isn't a lot to hold (think I used to use 25kg DB) but I got a length of chain and a karabiner, much cheaper than a belt and you look slightly more dangerous walking in the gym with 1.5metres of hardened steel chain than a girly belt! ;)

Yeah should be fine for holding upto about a 30kg-40kg DB between your legs, gets a bit much after that.
What way do you do this. I have tried holding a 5Kg plate between my feet while dipping...and its hard!!! With a belt...20kg's hanging is no probs. Show us best way to hold the dumbell.

Edit..forget it...jut used my two braincells ;(

Please add to total score, increased my deadlift by 10 kilos not much of an increasment but ive hit the 200kg mark now fingers crossed i can stick to it as im not the biggest fan lol as stated.:)

I'm no power lifter but i do all three disciplines as part of my strength training. A new PB in DL today put my total nicely over 600 which I'm pretty please with!

Bench - 160kg (really want 170!)
Squat - 220kg
DL - 250kg

Body weight - 105kg-110kg (varies daily)

I use a belt when squatting and deadlifting but other than that its just shorts and T-shirt.

Impressive lifting, good work :]

not deadlifted in anger in ages (months probably!) but tried some tonight.

got a 200kg single up with some stress. give it a few weeks and will try a better 1RM.
did a bit of a big jump from 180x1 to 200, but felt that 200 was there and doing 190 then 200 would just take more energy from me.

Haven't posted in this thread for a while.

My target just over a 2 months ago was to hit 600K but just as I was hitting the low rep, big weight section of my routine I got the flu which kept me out of the gym for two weeks. Back now but on a cut so 600K will have to wait.

See, I do the opposite. When I am about to do a big squat, I will put my weight on the bar that I will use. Then I go over to the smith and put an extra 90lbs on and raise it on my shoulders and do a couple of faggot squats.

this way when i go over to the real thing it feels 10 x lighter :D
