OcUK Powerlifting Totals

Chong, your absence from the list is noticeable. We know you see bench press as being down there with concentration curls but still, your stats will put many of us to shame and you're always posting details of lifts in other threads so I know you're not shy :)

22.6 KG Bench x10
22.6 KG Deadlift x10
22.6 KG Squat x10

Height 6 ft.
Weight 13 st.

Yes I only have 50lb of weight to put on the bar in total, so I did 10 reps each. The online calculater puts that at 30KG each for a single rep. Do I lose? :(

I found the bench easy. The deadlift I found OK but strains the back a little. The squats were hardest and legs/knees started to strain on the 10th rep. I also found it hard to balance which is scary when i'm doing this on my own!

I need to buy better and heavier weights!

Grrr - I've got a psychological block. I can push out 2-3 190 DLs, I just struggle with 200 it's a mind **** i think. I'm a bit frustrated. :( However I just LOVE DLs definitely my favourite exercise - even though that 200 is my nemesis at the moment.

This weekend 130 bench - I'm determined :p

Doing 5x160kg squat what do you reckon my 1`RM would be? I've done 170 with a bit of a wobble but solidly.

the reason the squats and DL were harder is because you have your bodyweight PLUS the bar. That weight is all far too light dude, you should be squatting and deadliftin 75% or so of your bodyweight as an adult man.

10kg at the cusp can be a lot m8, as you know im sure!

I had a horrendous squat sesh today, warmed up on 100kg for 10, was tough but did it (despite having a pb of 120kg for 10) then put a measily 110 on the bar and failed at 5 :( gutted. Ended up doing 80kg eccentrics. I hate this cutting malarkey.

Ahh is see that makes sense. Because i'm lifting such a puny amount the bench press is easier. Where as normally I can see that this is usually the hardest.

OK that really just highlights that I deffo need more weight.

The problem is I don't like the gym, and I only have a bedroom at home to excersise in (when i'm not mountain biking). Howver i'm moving into a house with my girlfriend this weekend... and it has a large brick shed with power out back. You can guess what i'm thinking... :D

I know, I should have put it up by 5 or 2.5 instead :o It's just so close :o

I'm not cutting at the moment so it's big weights medium reps and pushing myself hard grrrrrrr. lol! :p

Superset with concentration curls with a pause and squeeze at the top and I'll be impressed.... Beef! :D

Bench Press: 132.5kg
Squat: 150x5 = Predicted 1 rep max 170kg
Deadlift: 185kg - Have done 180x3 aswell, that gives a predicted 1 rep max of 190kg

Total = 482.5kg (487.5 if you use the higher predicted dead)

I won't go over 150kg on squats because I lift raw and tbh I think once you start going over that weight the stresses and strains on the knees and back outweigh potential gains for a natural lifter. They were at least parallel too ;)

I reckon I'm good for 140kg on the bench, as some may have guessed I'm not big on it. Also I've done weighted dips with a 45kg DB for 5 reps @ 100kg bodyweight, so I don't think it's too far out of my reach? I've also done 140x5 BOR's and they're usually very close to each other... I always train alone though so it's very rare I get chance to go for it.

I've linked to the workouts page in my journal for each claimed lift...

Sorry forgot to add bodyweight *ahem* currently 14st 8lbs :D:D (92.5kg)

I know you've said you won't go over 150K before (you know you want to squat 180K really) but what about reps? Any aspirations of pulling a Tom Platz at 150K?

I'm saving the Hungarian leg blast for in a few months. Squatting to failure at the moment :D

Weighed in on Saturday at 62.5KG.

I've been gaining though so seems a little odd, when I said 64KG it was more of a guess because I thought my weight had gone up. Perhaps it's time to try add more calories, although the less volume i'm doing with HIT may help.

Legs and shoulders today, happy with a new best squat of 125kg! Did:

80kg x 10
90kg x 10
100kg x 10
120kg x 1
125kg x 1

I reckon that 130kg will be in the bag next time I try a max, could have maybe done it today but was happy with 125.

Edit, also means now that I've moved up a place, overtaking Skull. Yippie!

Thought I'd wade in to give myself something to look back on and laugh at (that's the idea anyway). Train alone so avoid trying 1RM, but based on a few online calcs I got the following:

Bench: 100kg
Squat: 120 kg (reckon I could go a fair bit higher - possibly 135)
Dead:140kg

@ 5'8 and 70kg

Fair way to go before I get to club 500 :)
