OcUK Powerlifting Totals

About 330 pounds in October!! Do it :D

Nobody comes to georgia in october for a holiday, its like going to bangor in winter.....Arizona state on the other hand, hot cheerleaders nice weather :D

Clipsey we play @ Michigan state so you could probably come catch me there as that would obviously be a lot closer :)

Our cheerleaders are ugly, they're annoying too all of them. :o

they are impressive enough if you have just started in the gym.

how long have you been training before 'starting seriously'?

I've been going to the gym for about a year but only really paid it lip service, so to speak. Just went to lose weight (weighed 15 stones 2 pounds and was fat Xmas 06) and once I had got down to 13 stones it was just maintenance work really. Didn't really go at all at the start of the year after my daughter was born, retured to the gym with some focus at the start of April.

You gotta eat big to get big bro.

Remember this quote - "I aint fat, im bulkin"

**** was just getting to 7x 150 (4th set - heaviest, starting at 110) squats and went a bit too low for my ability and collapsed. The rack caught it though, I'm fine, it was just so so so irritating, I had nothing left I couldn't even hold it. My form was fine, I didn't arch my back or try to compensate I just had nothing left :( I then tried again but couldn't even push up once on a full deep squat tempted to do partial squats but didn't see the point - so went to 90kg ATG front squats and annihilated myself that way for a couple of sets.

I'm not going to be able to walk tomorrow.

Don't be distraught, failure shows that you're pushing yourself to the limit- a sure fire way of progressing.

I know what you mean though, it does feel disappointing when your muscles just give up on you. When it goes, it goes!

squats are the worst for failure anxiety(sp?) whenever i collapse on a squat set i get very angry. Ive taken to box squatting now because i need a constant so that i can break my wierd 120kg inability (i always get stuck in the bottom position). I reccommend when you find your limits you do the same, it works! use a 6" box tho :D

What a great feeling it is to wake up and put on a tshirt that has come straight form the dryer

Makes you feel like the hulk :D

hahahaha love it m8. I have these polo shirts for work that are black and the L size sticks to my bi's and pecs like nobodies buisiness but theres just enough room to move in the belly region that i dont look either gay or chubby. Make me look twice the size i do topless awesome.

I tend to lurk this forum but never post! I used to be a right chubster when i was in year 7, but sorted myself out. Went from 13 stone down to 10 and a half, and now im back upto 12 and a half, but a stocky build with a slim waist and large arms/shoulders. Bit of a health freak watching what i eat n all!

I go to the gym more or less every day of the week.

Just turned 19, 81 kilos, 5 ft 10.

Bench Max Rep: 100 kgs
Normally will do sets of 10 with between 60 to 80 kg's

Dumbell Press: Max rep 1 x 45kg's (biggest dumbell my gym has! :) )
Normally i will do sets of 10 with between 30 and 37.5 kg's.

Leg Extension: Managed 8 reps of 100 kg's today

Lateral Pull down: Max rep 96 Kg's
Sets of 10 with between 60 75 kg's

Dumbell Shoulder Press: I have a routine which goes: 25kg's 2 sets of 10, 27.5 Kg's 2 sets of 10, 30 Kg's 2 sets of 8.

Pec Fly Machine: Max rep 151 Kg's, I tend to find this a really easy exercise.
Sets of 12 with between 75 and 100 Kg's

Upright Rows: Set of 10 with 30 or 40 Kg Barbell, probaly a max rep of about 50/55 Kg.

As you can see, not a lot of leg work, though i am starting to get into that. I do a fair bit of back, just not deadlifts! I do good mornings, pull dows, seated rows etc.

Im impressed with how far ive come scince i started uni :)

try to balance your legs out m8, 100kg bench is great but you should have 160-200kg deadlift and 130-150kg squat (equivalent to over 200kg on a leg press) to back that. And wtf is a 151kg flye? What kinda stupid ass machine you have there? If you could grab a pair of 30's let alone 75's and do one clean flye i would buy you a car. Get on the bench and quit the pec-deck

Try and go to the gym less and continue working in your rep range you would make better progress. No one ever got big by going to the gym, remember that, you get big by resting up, sleeping lots and eating lots of the right things.

Thanks for the advice, ive recently started doing less weight and more reps, to start toning, with summer coming up and all ;) ill have to start getting into deadlifts, will try them on the smith machine at first. I know a few guys down the gym so will get them to teach me and check im not doing it wrong! Last thing i want is to slip a disk!

Yeh i can manage 200 on the seated legpress and probaly a bit more ( it stops at 200). Although after watching Ronnie Coleman legpress 2300lbs which is about 1000 kilo? or a TONNE! I always feel a bit weak compared! lol Regardless of all the things he was taking I always feel a bit weak compared! lol

yeah people leg press silly loads but im not advising you try to emulate that and have 40" thighs, just that unless you balance your overall body power by building on your weakness you will stop developing your upper body. Thats how weight lifting works it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a 150kg bench and a 100kg squat.

EDIT: im talking natural here if your shooting 10mg of test then yah you'll get huge upper body with spindly legs ala Arnie at his competetive best.
