Damn it LiE!

I really need to sort out my bench it seems, it's so lacking compared to everything else and is just holding my back.

I only have 5 weeks in which I can use a barbbell Benchpress before the summer.
Then I'm stuck with dumbbells again or I'll have to use a smiths...

Hey, can I have my totals updated?

kylew -------- 125 / 190 / 170 -------- [125] ---- 485

Some how, I managed to put 20KG on to my squat, bizarrely. The week before I'd been trying 180KG, tried it a few times last week and I kept failing, just stopping at the bottom, but last night I shot up with 190KG quite easily some how, quite happy with my self, but the back of my neck is swollen and red now (though that's more to do with me doing 100KG seated goodmornings to sort out my lower back problems, and it's hit the exact area I have trouble with, so I'm really happy about that too :D).

Benched 100kg for the first time today. Had a go at 102.5kg but failed. Oh well, a 7.5kg increase can't be sniffed at, especially for someone with the upper body of a marathon runner.:p

At least you tried, I find I sometimes surprise myself by trying weights I'm unsure about, like the 190KG squat last night, I'd tried 180KG quite a few times and failed, and the week before my 190KG, I struggled to squat 150, yet last night I was doing 150 for reps and 190 was easier than 180 ever felt. I was fully expecting to completely fail the 190, but it shot right up. :p

Good lifting both of you, although I'm coming for all of your totals :)*

* may never happen :p

:p

I'm quite embarrassed that my squat is 20KG over my deadlift though, I'm expecting my deadlift to shoot right up with these squat and goodmorning sessions though. :p If I sort my back out, I think might be able to hit a 600KG+ total by July time. :p

I don't see the problem.

In the states with Pro Powerlifters, their squats are usually over their deadlifts.

Specially with the lads squatting near and over 1000lbs.

You will be trampled under the power of my Almighty Converse!

I've a month of peoper rack free weight squats, and bench. Expect some nice improvements from me. ( the stairs this morning leading to my breakfast were painful. I've never had quad DOMS like these before.)

In the mean time, I hope FF pops in and updates some of our lifts.
My 175kg squat and 85kg press still need to go up. Hehe

I think it's something like 2-3 weeks till my next set of 1rm tests and I'm projected a 490kg total, but I think I might break that by a few kilos. My squats today (157.5x3x3) felt like a piece of cake, despite the fact that I only had 20mins for everything so I'm going to take you boys down :).

Oh, and I lift barefoot, so get ready to be crushed under my smelly, grubby feet :p.

You're planning on adding 115kg to your total in two months? I somehow doubt that! :p

More people should post videos of their lifts, makes it more fun! I've got my squats that I'll post up this weekend, and I plan on filming my deads tomorrow.

The next couple of weeks are getting very scary in terms of my weights, I'm basically set to pb for reps

As soon as I sort my lower back, my numbers will jump up! :p My squat jumped 20KG in around 2 weeks as well :D. I can dead lift over 200KG to my knees, but I crumble as soon as my lower back comes in to it. My lower back is stronger than it was by quite a bit, when I dead lifted 170, so I know if I tried it I'd manage more than 170, so it seems like a huge amount to increase, but it's not as much as it seems because of things like that.

I've been thinking about doing some videos of my lifts as well.

A 20kg jump in two weeks means something was wrong before, or your range was reduced in the more recent attempt. I love your optimism though :D

My back lol, that was the problem. My range also wasn't reduced, I only do full depth squats. One of the problems with the 180KG attempts was that my lower back just couldn't support me at the bottom, I just fell forward. So while 190KG felt ridiculously heavy, I could feel that my lower back was more stable, which I'm quite happy about, because I've had this lower back problem for a long time, sometimes it got to bad I couldn't stand up :p.

A good squat suit can make a lot more of a difference to a squat than a DL suit does. If you look at any of the raw records you'll see that DL is almost always higher than squat.

Fair enough :)

...still won't be able to add 40kg to all of your lifts in 2 months though ;)
