OCUK pre built PC to replace xbox

Another refresh, lol. This is what i'm heading for, left the gpu out as I will see what the prices are in the new year, but Im looking at 4070ti. Im pretty sure all this works based on what's been said. Thanks everyone, sorry for the constant basket changes, its a minefield, and budgets always spiral!

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,060.87 (includes delivery: £11.98)

Keyboard, mouse, monitor needed, mouse mat also. Plus for FS you'll need yoke, pedals, throttle.

Read up on different keyboard sizes, key switches and keycaps haha :D

Im using my lg cx, have a mouse and velocity one flight stick, just need a keyboard. :D

Im going for the laid back sofa approach, where no mouse mat is needed, actually I use cheap mouse with my xbox perfectly fine on any flat surface.

As I said this is replacing my xbox, so its going in a large tv cabinet compartment, I will open the back up and its open at the front, its very roomy, I think its called an IKEA Besta, but I got the version with the larger compartments.

I went with brown, they're replaceable - one went faulty recently so instead of having faulty key just changed the faulty switched. Pretty cool.

Or I could change some keys to softer/harder, clicky etc, ie arrows could work well with clicky to get that immediate and audible feedback.

got a corsair k70 pro with cherry red linear...like it as usb lead is detachable so can just get a longer lead if further away from pc
did um and err about getting the asus strix II scope 96 wireless keyboard, with snow switches...meant to be very good, but was unsure about non full size as use for work also...would suit the sofa lounger though

With the ryzen 9800x3d and Phanteks XT pro ultra case in mind what motherboard should I go for?

Need something with good WiFi as that’s all I can use currently, don’t want to spend anymore than £200 on a motherboard though really.

Look at the difference between WiFi 6 v WiFi 6e

I can only get 5ghz via my pro 6 eero I believe until I eventually upgrade them, but I might as well go for a motherboard with 6e, it’s reading some reviews of some of the cards mentioned in here saying WiFi is not great, but I guess that could be other factors to that.

Would the Msi b650 mag tomahawk be a good choice for the phanteks xt pro ultra case?

I will post an updated basket next year before I buy anything.

That case fits motherboards upto atx in size so yes it's a good choice.

Another slightly cheaper option with WiFi 6E is the

Asus TUF Gaming B650-E WIFI and the MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI Motherboard check specifications to compare features.

I did read that cards with the intel ax210 WiFi module are very good, but unsure what cards have that and what the cost would be.

Not much info on what type of WiFi module on th tuf motherboard website so a but an email could tell you.

A quick Google the intel ax210 WiFi module is £30 so you could get changed it or add a pcie WiFi card if your unlucky but you may be better with WiFi extender.

Can anyone link me 64gb ram 2 x 32gb please, looking at Corsair vengeance, but I get confused with all the clock speeds so not sure what I need, 64gb is a lot for most games but it seems it will help a lot with msfs24.
Depending on the time I buy I might opt for the tomahawk x670e also if prices change.
So this more or less my final basket.
Just need help on the ram.

Thank you

That’s that then, think my final build is ok for me hopefully some prices drop like on the gpu when new ones release. Would you say my basket is fine?
My only concern is I’m scared I will be spending a lot and screw something up when building it, as I’m a complete noob despite building one somehow many years ago.

Yes it's fine.

if you can then 9800x3d should be you first choice if you can wait like the GPU.

One thing I tend to do is up the wattage on the PSU as it's usually in the pc for 10 years to give you more headroom for future upgrades. 1000w cost an extra £30 so spend a little more now to save in the future.

There are loads of tutorials on how to build on YouTube and if anything it's slightly easier to build, apart from RGB stuff. Read the motherboard manual that will walk you threw the build and bios, most people skip it but it's a must imo.

Preparation is the key have windows downloaded onto a usb drive before so you ready to go.

Put the cpu in the motherboard fit the cooler and m2 drive before you fit it in the case .

Any questions beforehand tag me in and we can try to help.

Curve ball This case and cooler would make you build look sweet.

Thanks I will see what’s what at the time, and might opt for the 9800x3d if it’s available, will check out some 1000w psu’s.

I read about doing a bios update with just psu attached, seems easy enough, though I might not need to do that at the start if I get the 7800x3d.

Do you put ram in as well before placing motherboard In the case?

Doesn't really matter it's easy enough, it's the CPU you need to take most care when slotting bot i the motherboard so you don't bend any pins . Already helped 2 people in a week diagnose bent pins causing problems.
