The RX7700XT is an upsell for the RX7800XT - AMD should have had it at around $400 for the reference models.

Though I do wonder if we will get an RX7600XT based on Navi 32?

No point is there? 7600 1080p gaming. 7700XT 1080p highest settings, entry level 1440p. 7800XT 1440p high settings, and so on.

Really they don't need any more cards. They just need to make the 7700XT cheaper so it fits better between the two.

The Navi 32 dGPU in the RX7700XT looks like it is using fully functional Navi 32 chips, with only a few CUs disabled.

I suspect in a few months we might get a lot of salvaged Navi 32 dGPUs,which need a new home.

There is after all a huge gap between the RX7600 and RX7700XT in price.

If I paid that much for a GPU and still needed to use upscaling I would be fuming.
I am seriously tempted to stop caring about chasing ultra settings and upgrade my RX 590 for a RX 7600, I'd get twice the horsepower for the same money, only thing stopping me is that I'd have no RAM upgrade.
7800XT is also tempting but it's very close in price to 6950XT here so between the two I'd go for the older flagship TBH.

Basically Lisa pulled a Jensen move. Gpu market is one big scam ran by nvidia and amd, Intel is our only hope.
if thats the case.

It is pretty funny though. Although I expect somehow its AMD's fault.

Well it was wasn't it? week one news blamed it all on AMD. Then AMD stepped up and said it wasn't their problem, so people asked Bethesda who said in all of the time it was in dev Nvidia never approached them.

But aye, imagine paying for a 4090 and then having to pay some dude £3 or whatever it was for some janky DLSS? that is embarrassing. That said absolutely nothing now that Nvidia pull surprises me any more. First I was shocked, then I was peed. Now? I just laugh.

People going on in this thread about the naming so much are Nvidia users. And their master released a card that was the same speed as last gen yet more money. Jokes man.

Yup. I even heard a rumour you may be able to unlock them too. Then all of a sudden all you are losing is 4gb of VRAM and some bandwidth. Would make *a lot* more sense then.

BTW I know I have pointed out a couple of games now with no DLSS right? Let me give you all the reason why I ditched Nvidia. And it wasn't because of money or anything else. The title *I* had been waiting for was Dead Island 2. I loved the first and have about 900 hours into it through several playthroughs over both the original and definitive editions (and about 400 hours into Riptide).

Go down for the reason, or.

  • Go to “Options”
  • “Display”
  • “Advanced”
  • Disable “AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.”
LOL. The F-ed up bit is what it doesn't say is "Only on Nvidia GPUs because it is only them it affects".

Now at that time I was still using my 2080Ti on my TV PC. I wanted to FSR to 4k, but the game kept freezing and crashing and the game would not run natively at 4k at a reasonable FPS. I waited two months for a fix. Guess what? there wasn't one. Not ever. Not an update to the game, or even an acknowledgement from Nvidia that it was a bug and no drivers to fix it.

I was done at that point.

Imagine having a 4090 and requiring upscaling on any game. Oh, the shame.

Now AMD has made the first move,Nvidia can reduce the price of the RTX4070 and/or include some games. That is how it should work.

After all the RTX2070 first came out, then the RX5700XT came out, then Nvidia tweaked the range after that.
I don’t think a few quid off and a game thrown in isn’t enough for Nvidia and they really need a super refresh to fix this generation.

A 4060 super with 4070 performance for £450, 4070 super with 4070ti performance and 16gb for £600, drop the 4080 to £800 and release a 4080 super / ti on a 102 for £1000, we’ll have to see how AI pans out though since Nvidia isn’t interested in gaming right now.

Sad thing is I don't think they'll even bother, they seem to be in a 'take it or leave it' kind of mood with AI doing so well.

I can see Nvidia not even bothering to launch any new gaming products til 2025, when AI demand has been satiated.

I genuinely don't feel that is going to happen.

Really, I think Nvidia are 100% done with PC gaming.

Let's move away from things like naming and pricing for a while.

Starfield has no official DLSS. The one thing people forgot to actually do was ask Nvidia why. As it happens, and was pointed out by Bethesda and I quote "Nvidia have not approached us". I have heard that basically? they did not want to pay for Bethesda to add it. Whereas AMD? did.

Now let us move onto the last like, "big" title before that.

DLSS is not functional at all. Nothing. Is any one missing the memo here? let me point it out for you. Nvidia are not approaching game companies, and they are not offering up help or even 1p in support. Nothing, zero, nada. As a company who pimped RT and DLSS to get people to buy GPUs they should also have been prepared financially to make them happen. But, like a lot of things they have pushed over the years? they have not followed on with the support.

Then, let us move onto what you get with an Nvidia GPU now. A few free skins for a crap game. That is it. All that money, and that is all you get. It's pathetic. Talk about a cop out. I mean, even before Starfield AMD were giving out Dead Island 2. Which was also a £60 game and has not dropped much in price since. Before that? it was The Last Of Us. Before that? something else big. I know because I have bought several AMD codes now and activated them on my various cards.

Yet Nvidia are just not bothered it seems.

Which leads me onto my point. If they are not bothering to approach game devs and willing to offer up the money needed to court them? I would avoid like the clap. Honestly this one time? I actually hope I am wrong and y'all with Nvidia cards are not now ginger headed step kids. Sadly with their actions of late? that is exactly how it feels.

Going back to the fanboy joke? last AMD GPU I bought was a 7990 at a massive discount. Every single one since then was Nvidia, as I always preferred them. It is only since mining and the fact they clearly didn't give a crap about us AND have not even tried to make amends? I have moved onto AMD. However the sole reason I ended up with three AMD GPUs? all based on the price and the freebies included.
This post has gone elsewhere as a classical piece of Internet spin gaslighting satire. Astounding in it's depiction of precious entitlement and rabid fanboyism. Well done Sir, Peter Cook would be proud.

From the sounds of it AI demands will never be satiated. It’s the future of everything apparently.

And Nvidia have won at it. They finally have a market all to themselves.
