** OcUK Tech Labs Fathom All in One Custom Cooler **

Thought you originally mentioned that kit*S* had been sent out for review, implying several sites would be reviewing it. Now it appears only one will be reviewing it. Why not have more people review it? If it reviews well, I'd imagine OCUK's German parent (caseking) might be interested in doing it for the German market, too. A single review - even if praised - isn't going to be enough objective testing for a lot of people, plus different sites seem to get wildly different results from coolers, in some cases.

My fathom is cooling well but should I be concerned if the LED in the pump has stopped working? I'm not too bothered by not having the LED, just if its a sign that something else might be likely to give trouble.

Regards
Fred

Hush bulldog. Tired of your attitude in this thread. Its not like you're going to buy one anyway.

The cooler was shipped to a reviewer who left the review site he worked for before finishing the review.

The coolers then got sent back the the review site, and got damaged in transit.
So we are back to square one, trying to sort the whole thing out.

Very much out of my hands.

rjkoneill can you not organise an in-house test on an Intel platform? Just something so we can have rough figures ? Love the look of the cooler but cant justify the money without knowing more about it, sure you have the AMD test but I honestly have NO idea if thats good or not.

Basically I know it would be a huge upgrade over my cooler, I'd just like to know HOW much of an upgrade and if that is worth the £100 more on the price tag.

Hell if you want it reviewed send one out to me and I'll do it! and If I like it, I'd send you the money for it ;)

Looking so nice but having to refill puts me off

best part about it if you ask me! doubt you WILL have to refill but if you want to, you can.

its really there so you can add a bigger rad if you wanted. depending if the pump can handle it

If only getting products for review was that easy.. :) Even I would gladly review it in a day, but I'd have nothing to compare it with except the H100i and a Akasa nero V3 so it wouldn't be worth much.

Well you could order it and DSR it if you don't like it and do a review regardless, but you'd pay the postage I think.

Bulldog's attitude is one of sheer delight, but he has a point. A simple review done by OCUK would be nice. One an Intel x79 or Ivy... not an AMD system that less than 20% (pulling this from the air) have.

I have a Fathom and I love it. I would suggest that it is slightly better than a H100 too... but it should be given the price.

I would also suggest you make sure people know the dimensional differences between the XPSC and the BlackIce SR1 240. I fell into this issue.

My experience as follows (if I haven't already said it);

1. Arrived packaged nicely with extra Mayhems coolant
2. I needed to change the Rad as I chose the BI 240 and needed a thinner XPSC. I did this myself but buyers beware... check dimensions
3. I therefore drained the AIO solution but unscrewing the compression fittings and draining over a bowl.
4. Once done, I cut the tubing - as it would have been too long for my diddie case - and re-attached them using the compression fittings. These are easy to do and has actually lowered my fear of watercooling
5. I used this bridging connector to hotwire my PSU
6. I filled the res/block using a funnel and made the pump go on and off until the fluid moved around
7. There was air in the system, so I would screw the top back on and move the AIO solution until the air came into the res/block bit. This meant raising the res/block above the rad with the pump on
8. Repeated 6-7 until the air had gone

Temps are 28-30 idle on cores and never above 65 load using AIDA64.

I have asked a few times for an in-house test, even offered myself to review it :p I like the looks of it, just need to know it performs as advertised and if its worth the extra money over say an h100i

Thanks BaDBoY_uK,

Looking at picking up one of these for the new build I am working on (Rampage IV Back Edition in a 350d). Knowing a rough idea of the temps on the 4930k helps a lot.

You mentioned the difference between the Black Ice 240 rad and the XSPC. With the radiator space of the 350d I can only assume the XSPC is the only one that will fit.

No problem. I hope it will help.

I would look outside of the OCUK forums toward OC.net. I found the 350d owner's club topic on OC.net. Take a look http://www.overclock.net/t/1401102/corsair-350d-owners-club

I am sure someone will have asked the qn around maximum 240 rad size etc and someone will have answered it

Also this is the link for the Eisberg (the pump that OCUK uses) owner's club. Some answers may lie in there also

http://www.overclock.net/t/1423039/cooler-master-eisberg-solo-120l-240l-owners-club

[I hope I am not breaking rules pointing you there]

Nice 350d build. It seems that a larger rad can be fitted to the front? Get creative ;)

Thanks again for the links, pretty stoked for the Black Edition release date, mapped it out and it should look great with the huge board in the 350d just need to work on the motherboard stand-off situation.

Also discovered there are slots in the mid plate for the graphics cards to slot into so that will need doing.

But defiantly going for the fathom over the h100i if not just for temps but to give the rig a more unique look.

If UK reviewers are proving unreliable or problematic (and there are few good ones), why not get Caseking to arrange for one of the (many) good German sites to review one in the mean time? They provide a lot of hardware for reviews anyway, to European and UK sites.

Given the way most German operations run, I doubt it'll take them 3-4 months of pfaffing around to then produce no review.

P.S. Caseking.de is OCUK's parent, if people are unaware.
