*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

Excuse the noob question, I've never owned a VR headset before and this one looks like a great price to finally dip my toe in. I have a decent spec PC, do I need to buy the optical cable to connect the Quest 2 to it or can it be done via wifi instead? £89 seems a lot for the cable but if I need it then I'll order one. Cheers!
Wifi is fine i have mine connected to the sky q hub on the 5ghz frequency. My pc is in the bedroom and my router is in the living room.

This was my first head set, decided to order a reverb g2 as currently this one does not look good enough for certain games I like to play such as sim racing games,

That said apparently there is a update coming that will improve the link connectivity and the resolution,

Big improvements commended, just waiting for the refresh rate and resolution increase now.

Anyone getting eye pain after using the Q2?
I seem to get some pain & irritation with my eyes after using the Q2 for more than an hour...wonder whether it's down to the fixed IPD..my IPD is 64 & the Q2 is set to position 2.
Never had a problem with eye strain with the Q1 or Rift S...puts me off using my Q2 to be honest.

Try using the Glasses spacer. 64nm at position 2 should be perfect.

Just been testing Link. My main conclusion is that I can only use max 0.7 pixel density to get 72 fps. If I use anything higher, Link drops to 36 fps automatically.

The bit rate setting seems to have an effect, its noticeable upto about 200 for me at the moment. But I expect I am hampered by the pixel density setting primarily.

I've managed to get that 72fps and using 1.2 pixel density on a 1080. It's not your usb cable slowing it down is it?

Afternoon all,

im in the process of building a HTPC/VR rig to use my Rift in the living room. im wondering whether its worth just buying one of these instead? when its downstairs, its usually used for games which require a bit more room ie gorn, robo recall etc. . . is it limited in what games it can play solely through the headset?

Anyone got their headset microphone working in OBS/Windows with the Link Cable? PC detects it fine but it just doesn't react to my voice.

Has anyone used the anti fog lens cloths ?.
My lens are fogging up instantly as soon as i put the headset on.
I have to keep on removing it and cleaning the lenses. Probably because the lenses are cold but wondered if anyone had tried the anti fog cloths to help with the issue?

turn on the headset a few minutes before putting it on.
