Pretty standard for the PC and standalone versions to have quite different assets, no?

Ah right, just confusing is all. :) Thought that if I installed via the desktop app it would install to Quest. But seems because I have cable attached its downloading the PC one?

If you're using link and you're browsing the store, I think it's browsing PCVR apps. I think... Makes sense to me at least, although I am very new to all this malarkey!

:edit: oh, am I right in reading that there's an install on headset option even when using link? Maybe best to keep my mouth shut as I'm clearly clueless :o

Both apps there's a drop-down to choose if you browse the rift store or the Quest store - most games have cross buy but it's worth checking before buying

Gonna return mine, the smudges/whatever they are are annoying me. They do blur the image a little at times though its faint. Will get a replacement.

Definitely return it, defective product. There seems to be lots of stock, so there shouldn't be too much of a delay in getting a replacement.

It looks like there's currently a good supply of stock, do folks think that this will be the case until xmas, or will they become are rare as rocking horse poop as demand picks up?

Difficult to say, but to me it seems they have their production well sorted out, if they could survive the launch day as well as they did then hopefully it bodes well.

Covid could have a big influence. If we're all confined to quarters again then demand for this sort of stuff will shoot up like it did last time. OTOH, it could be that Oculus have prepared for that possibility.

Feel like a bit of an idiot. I’ve been wearing mine without my glasses, mainly as I can see perfectly up to about arms length and thought, these screens are only a few cm’s from my eyes!

Whilst I’ve loved the experience and did think it looked quite good, I wasn’t getting the same wow factor as others (limited prior experience with PSVR and original Rift).

Tried it with my glasses on this morning and what a difference :D:o

Being a little lazy but who do people recommend to get lenses from?

Yep if you need glasses in normal life (computer work, driving etc), then you need them in VR.

Have you ever tried contact lenses? Freedom from glasses is well worth the monthly cost of lenses in my opinion.

VR lenses are normally focused at between 1.5 and 2m.

I have age related presbyopia (unable to focus close up) and one benefit of VR's fixed focal distance is that I can read things close up that I can't in real life. :D

New BMBF is now up and working with Q2, however you will get a scary message about using modded versions of software, up to you if you want to take the risk.

For me? Well the only reason to even play Beat Saber is custom songs, so risk it I shall.
