Dad just got back in from borrowing my car (no way you'd find on-street parking for the 5er where he went).

Him: You seen, it's raining.
Me: Yeah
Him: Your car's fun without an LSD :D
Me: And you found out how
Him: Erm....

So that's where I got the drive it like you stole it mentality from!

For the past 2 weeks I thought the interior light in my car had broken.

You know when you open the door, the interior light comes on for 15 seconds. I know there is a on/off/auto switch but on mine, there isn't. The lights above the rear view mirror has only on/off. So I read the manual, and apparently in some models (may be mine) that when you are close to the car, as well as unlocking with keyless entry, the lights also comes on at the same time. I was even going to ask the Toyota Garage when i do the next service tomorrow.

So today i realise i am a complete numpty sometimes. I looked behind me and above and saw another interior light on the roof of the car!!! and that all important on/off/auto switch. It was set to off, so now after i set it to auto, all is well!

Saw an add on gumtree for a 306HDi Meridian, and emailed asking for some pics.
Got a reply basically saying she's selling it for her brother but the number in the advert is his, or email her with mine.
Am I just being paranoid or should I ask for pics?

Not worth a thread of its own but having just moved from a Discovery that did 330 miles on £100 of diesel this was a pleasant surprise in the new Leon:
Note the trip counter which was reset when I filled up from empty with £75 of diesel.

I hate selling cars.

My mum's old A4. Nothing specular, its just an old, relatively tidy worse horse. Taxed, tested, ready to go, the auction has just ended at £280. I was hoping for around double that . Then it would seem like the bloke is coming from Yorkshire so there goes my hope of getting it shifted by the end of this weekend. I was intended on giving it a full service before passing it on (because I'm a nice guy like that) but at that sort of money I refuse to do it out of principal.

Got the Toyota on the market too, but I've got nothing but time wasting calls asking if I'll knock a few hundred quid off on the phone because they are coming from Birmingham/Bradford/Manchester. Like I'm supposed to care . I've already categorically said in the ad that I'm not going to listen to people bidding me a grand because that's what the dregs go for. I'd sooner continue to pay the £140 odd a month on insurance and let it rot then take LESS than what I paid for it before the nearly 2 grand I've spent on it over the last year. I know its only a matter of a few hundred quid, but a man has to stick to his principals :D.

I'm not looking to replace it right away. The important thing is to square off my overdraft once and for all. After that I'll give it a few months and reassess.

I still want a XJR so I guess I'll wait and see what the insurance is like on them when I hit the big 2-0. If not probably a normal 3.2 or another Soarer, but this time a proper minter with all the toys :).

That car stands me in 4k, you tell me four thousand pounds what else you gonna get like that.

The car drives proper, not a sqeak or a rattle, that car gonna go another 140k no problem.

Thats cheap it looks pretty well speced out aswell. My dad paid 10k for a 70k minter a year and half ago. And keep them serviced well they will just keep going and going. When your driving you can't even hear the engine!

Its got xenons, nav, good wheels its a good car.

But Josh hes proud he dont want no help but you mark my words that boy gonna go far.

Sidelight blew, swapped it, brake light blew! swapped that, other side light (in same cluster) then blows, swap that too.
Next the indicator bulb blew so that got changed too.

It'll probably explode when I try reverse gear - I did not touch that bulb.

I need a new cluster possibly? - not sure, cleaned up the contacts etc & it looks fine.....

More likely, I'm merely cursed! :(

& to think I thought Italian cars had cack electrics?

That XJ is awesome :). I appreciate the offer, really, I do, but I've got to resist temptation and try to remain sensible. A few months without cars isn't going to do me any harm, then onto bigger & better things :).
