Ask away whatever you like, i tell you the best 2 upgrades on them, the mesh grill about 100 quid on ebay or 200 quid from adamesh and a big back number plate.

seriously listen up, iv driven every single car out there and for 4 or 5 grand there is nothing, nothing that comes within a mile of these cars as long as you buy the right car.

Thanks DM. I saw this one the other day (online), looks lovely.

Wasn't there a issue with the gearbox or something in those early 2003 models?

I remember something being mentioned about it before but not 100% sure. :o

99 % done under recall, corrosion is the problem, not rust because they aluminium, but jaguar used **** rivets so they corroded.

That aside and me being a Jag fan boy aside what else you tell me for five grand what else comes near them cars? You tell me and il eat it with HP sauce :)

Was driving to my dad's today, going through country lanes at the national speed limit, the road after the last corner into the town slows to 40mph after a right hand bend (still NSL), so I slowed down in anticipate for the speed limit and for the corner.

It is a sweeping right hander corner, and I slowed to about 45, and noticed a tractor just entered the corner to on the opposite lane coming my way and slowed a bit more - may be about 40mph. The tractor is WIDE already so I was more into my side of the road than I usually am. As I got half way into it I saw that crop-sprayer thing that's on the back sticking about 2ft into my side of the road.

Holy **** I thought!! So I swerved more to the left, wing mirror clipped a bunch of bushes, and I think I was actually off tarmac for a distance of about 30ft. If that had been a wall instead of bushes on my left I would have hit it.

It made my brother in law jumped in his seat!

Hmm, reverse bulb has gone now in the same cluster!

I've subsequently removed both clusters, given them a good shake, put them back in, had 3 more failed bulbs in the other cluster, so I've cleaned the contacts & replaced all the bulbs that I missed out yesterday and my check control light ( those annoying red arrows on the dash) has finally stopped coming on.

So, if you have slightly iffy lighting, get the contact cleaner out, grab some bulbs & get swapping.

I hope that my intermittent lamp failures are now a thing of the past!

This was a message, telling me to get an LED upgrade I feel.

Next week, the assault of kamakaize bugs that litter my windscreen....

Just had a thought regarding selling my car. I won't deny that the bodywork lets it down a bit. I'm due to get a bit of a bonus this month, do you lot think it would be worth investing a few quid on sorting the bodywork out and then re advertising it at a higher price?

My thinking is that I've got it up for £1400 at the moment and am only willing to move a few quid. What about me spending £300-£400, getting all/most of the dings pulled out, the spoiler and front bumper painted/filled it (flaking paint on the spoiler and flat paint on the bumper) and painting the wheels to sliver rather than the black they're in now.

Get some great pictures done, stump up for a premium ad on Pistonheads and eBay then get a bit cheeky and ask low/mid 2s, with the thought of taking 2 at a minimum.

Tidy ones do change hands for that sort of money, but very occasionally. My thinking is that getting the bodywork sorted will truly set mine apart from the dregs because tidy soarers not owned by knuckle draggers are a rare thing.

What's going to get me a easier sell? Tidy but expensive or tatty but cheap(ish)?
