***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Ooooh, Qadbak deal off with BMW.
Team sold back to Peter Sauber on the condition that it is on the grid in 2010!

Plus, Lotus and Manor are now part of FOTA.

Gotta love the amount of "Britishness" in Formula 1 :D

But Toyota have said they have no intention of selling the team and facilities on.

They still have a valid entry until 5pm on March 11th iirc. Thats when all cars need to been through the scrutineers.

Anyway, there is talk of the Toyota F1 car for 2010 being up for sale and essentially the entire engineering team behind it.

Ignoring financial reasons, what tracks in the UK actually have the safety run offs and stuff required for an F1 race?

Silverstone
Donnington when they finish it
Rockingham?

London Street Race GP gets my vote

This would be extraordinarily expense to stage. However, it will fast become one the most glamorous venues on the F1 calender, alongside Monaco.

I too would love to see a London Street race. I don't think there would be any doubt that it would be a sell-out.

I don't quite understand what fascination people have with Donnington. I've only ever seen 1 F1 race there and I wasn't particularly impressed (the fact that it was soaking wet, may have something to do with it). I like Siliverstone as a racing track and would be happy if F1 races could be staged there.

Perhaps someone could fill me in as to why Donnington is so highly rated by people on this forum?

Probably nostolgiac memories of Senna working his way up through loads of positions on the first lap in pouring rain.
I'm not sure it will be a particularly great track for modern F1 cars, but I do love it for BTCC and Motorbikes :)

A London F1 circuit could be pretty damn nice to see, wonder where they would route the track.
