This would be extraordinarily expense to stage. However, it will fast become one the most glamorous venues on the F1 calender, alongside Monaco.

I too would love to see a London Street race. I don't think there would be any doubt that it would be a sell-out.

I don't quite understand what fascination people have with Donnington. I've only ever seen 1 F1 race there and I wasn't particularly impressed (the fact that it was soaking wet, may have something to do with it). I like Siliverstone as a racing track and would be happy if F1 races could be staged there.

Perhaps someone could fill me in as to why Donnington is so highly rated by people on this forum?

Donington was only the scene for one of Senna's greatest ever drives. :)

It is/was a great club and national circuit with excellent viewing. It's also an excellent track day circuit with challenging corners.

Senna's past performance won't help deliver an exciting race, so that doesnt count for anything.

I rate Silverstone very highly. It really is a true drivers' circuit and bravery is rewarded. Is Donnington really better than Silverstone?

I can well imagine the constant talk, if we were discussing Spa - the ultimate drivers' circuit, with pretty every conceivable corner imaginable. If a driver is fast at Spa, he is genuinely a fast driver. There is also ample overtaking opportunities at Spa. Does Donnington compare in this way?

Keep in mind that I've only ever seen one race at Donnington and that was torrential downpour, where drivers weren't concentrating on racing (except for Senna), but merely on staying on the track.

yea i have a dislike for him.

i used to think he was alright back in the 90's but the last few years have made me think hes really a smug git.

didnt like the way he handled the whole brawn afair at all, he liked to make out as though virgin were making it happen with the huge sponsorship deal and giving it all the rest.

i wonder if he will be at many races next year when his branded cars are at the back end of the grid getting barely any airtime

If you are referring to setup sharing - at the start of the season we can expect both drivers to share their setups. If however, they are both competing closely or they fall out of friendship with eachother, then there will be an embargo on setup sharing. This happened when Alonso and Hamilton fell out while at McLaren.

That wasn't how it seemed to me, he said he was a lucky ******* for being in the right place at the right time and was happy to be championing the underdog.

He did indeed. His car was very good on that track.

Providing he has a good car suited to him, he isnt a bad driver. Remember, he has had a few pole positions and wins in his career. I think he also beat Alonso in a few races, when he was his team-mate at Renault.
 
I guess its safe to say that that Ferrari wasn't an easy car to drive, unless you helped develop it. Apparently, getting to grips with the KERS system to maximise the performance of the car was the tricky part. Obviously Massa and Kimi developed the car and so were the drivers who were able to go fastest in it.

Fisichella has been rewarded though, with a contract as the Ferrari test driver.
 
I think its more about the money. His career was pretty much coming to an end and next year's drive was by no means a certainty. By getting the test contract for next year, at least he keeps a job.
