***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Actually, I think Barrichello will be out on his ear even if we wins the WDC esp after all his bad mouthing of Brawn after the first third of the season. He should be grateful he even drive for 2009, the ungrateful git.

Cool - Freemason F1!

I read somewhere that the investors in Brawn want Rosberg - doesnt look good for Rubens.. (I also heard that Mercedes will try to be the main stakeholder in Brawn by 2011 and drop Mclaren?)

How rock solid is his contract at Brawn?

Contracts can be broken with the right amount of financial inducement anyway. Though I can't see why he'd want to leave - he stuck with their former incarnation(s) for so long despite the **** cars they gave him to drive, why would he leave now that they are at the pointy end of things?

I cant see either of them "letting" the other one win the WDC without something else /someone else having a say so

Already rumours that Rubens /Jock Clear wherent sharing information with Jenson's side of the garage, until Brawn himself knocked heads together during the last weekend

I wouldnt mind seeing them pairing up next year - but Im not sure it will happen, I would prefer a young charger like Rosberg or someone

McLaren suggested they had a really long contract still to go with Mercedes a week or so ago - there are of course financial inducements that could be made but it would be extremely expensive (think how much persausion Brawn as a team would want to lose Merc engines - multiply that by 100 or so if you are McLaren)

Yep, that sounds more feasible.

Can we just go back to the BMW/Lotus grid places.

I read the articles as though BMW were out so Lotus in. BMW in and reborn, no room for Lotus?

Yea it seems "BMW" are in limbo until the other teams are consulted about the possibility of them being the 14th team...

BBC said:
the FIA has said it will be "consulting urgently" with the 10 existing teams with a view to increasing the number of teams to 14.

my two pence for 2010

Would 28 cars on the grid mean a return to pre-qualifying?

It shouldnt, no. F1 is now to expensive for teams to risk being involved in the sport yet not being able to race.

As far as I was aware the 26 car limit was set becasue is it the limit of garage space available at some tracks. But then if they cut the teams at the top of the grid down to 2 garages rather than the 3 or 4 they have now, Im sure they could squeeze more in.

And my 2 pence... I think Kimi will be in a Ferrari next year. If a deal with Alonso was done they would have anounced it. The fact it hasnt been suggests that its either non existant, or being held up. And why would Kimi go to WRC? Its not like no other team on the F1 grid is going to want him, especially in the now 8 new seats! Its all rubbish talk from F1 press if you ask me.

Do teams HAVE to have 2 cars? Could the new teams just run with a single car if they wanted?

No, I believe the concorde agreement they'll have to sign requires them to field 2 cars, apart from in exceptional cases like the massa accident or if they had several crashes in practice/quali and didn't have enough spare parts to fix both cars.
