***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Lol at Massa. Did he forget that he drove down the pit lane with his fuel rig still attached? :D

What makes me laugh is the people saying " yes but because of the safety car ferrari had to rush the pit stop". Oh no, a rushed, against the clock pitstop in F1.......oh wait

Ant had it right on the commentary to first practice this morning.

"Massa is saying that Renaults cheating robbed him of his world title."
"No, the Ferrari traffic light system robbed him of his world title."

Also, isnt today the deadline for Donnington to prove they can carry out 3 years of work successfully in 8 months? So we shall hopefully get confirmation of the british GP at Silverstone next year this weekend!

You can pretty much be sure Donnington cannot do the work in time, next year F1 will be at Silverstone or there wont be a British GP.

Can someone do me a favour - I didn't watch the Suzuka qualifying this morning, but want to stream it from the website. I know if I go on the BBC website I'll end up seeing who is on pole before watching it :p
Is the stream up yet, and if it is can someone direct link to it? :D

I'm still debating wether or not to get up at 5am tomorrow to watch it, record it or watch it in the afternoon (replay). Trying to avoid the results will be hard though.

I really hope Button wins this year, with 7 wins he deserves it imo, they rest he's been very lucky but I do think he's a very good driver. To top it off my mate works at Brawn GP so it's made it worth watching.

If he doesn't get it (god forbid), then I'd like to see Vettel get it, Barrichello just annoys me now since he blew everything out of proportion with the pit-stop earlier in the year. I also get the feeling him and Button don't get on to well anymore, certainly not like they did at the begining of the season.

God help any of Alonso's team mates next season, he just rubs everyone up the wrong way from what I can see. Does he ever smile?

Have we had any official word on where the British GP will be next year? Ive managed to convince the GF to go to Silverstone, but will need to be in line for some cheap early bird Grandstand tickets, as she wasnt so keen on the "on the bank in a fold up chair at 5:30am" idea...

Still on course for Donington, however time is running out for Silverstone to host a backup incase they fall behind on construction work.

Interesting rumour time.
The McLaren MP4/12 roadcar has a McLaren engine

The 2010 McLaren F1 car may have a McLaren engine, if the rumour is true. McLaren are interested in buying the BMW F1 engine division.

Given that Mercedes owns 40% of McLaren though, I really doubt they'd let them do that.

They arent strictly the same company (the F1 team and the road car company) so Im not sure how much Merc has to say about it - but even so the original F1 car also had a bmw engine also didnt it?

Aren't Mercedes investing heavily in Brawn GP next year?

All part of the McLaren Group that is 40% owned by Daimler AG.

So has Bernie confirmed that its all on course for Donnington? I cant see how this is even remotely possible. In a year they have built a tunnel (which has started to collapse), and they think they are going to build 2 miles of track and a whole pit complex in 8 months...

I want cheap Silverstone Grandstand seats!

Also the original ('90s) McLaren F1 road car had a BMW engine in it....

Ferrari has appointed 48-year-old Italian Luca Marmorini as head of its engine and electronics department, replacing Gilles Simon. Marmorini worked for the Maranello team throughout the 1990s, before moving to Toyota and heading up the Japanese squad’s engine department until his departure in January this year. Ferrari said Marmorini would take over from Simon with immediate effect.

I can't see the significance of this announcement.
Has Gilles Simon done something wrong?
Has Luca Marmorini been on gardening leave from Toyota since January?
