Looks fairly interesting, but we'll have to see whether it is another tilke-drone or not.

Ah, but Rubens was only down there in 5th because he'd been unlucky enough to hit everything except the pace car after getting walloped at Turn 1 by Kovy. Webber, on the other hand, was driving a Minardi that was coming apart at the seams by the end of that '02 race - broken differential, traction control all but dead, having to keep the revs low and short-shift just to stay on the island. Plus the fact that he was only that high because the race didn't get restarted after the Turn 1 apocalypse....Mika Salo dropping it while trying to overtake and running out of time to re-catch the Australian just about put the icing on the Luck Cake!

Or Rubens was very lucky to not have to retire from hitting everything he could :D

(I remember the state of the Minardi though - was very impressive that it was still going)

Getting errors on that link now but pretty difficult to tell what the circuit will drive like until there is proper footage (and a lot of cars rubbering it up)

What looks interesting to you from the two pics?

It looks just like any other recently built track, boring scenery and medium speed corners, woohoo

There's more pics if you click on the link :p

Doesn't look anything special

There is nothing wrong with Bernie trying to get wealthy people to get into F1. It will drive the sport forward and ensure that F1 exists in the years to come. It is arguably the Worlds most expensive sport to compete in.

Bernie has done a fantastic job moving F1 forward, over the years he has been the ring leader.

Perhaps CSlNuts can clear that up.

Personally, I do believe these people really are drinking all that RedBull. A lot of those guys look like they care little about their health and simply want to stay totally focussed during the race.

Dont forget most of these guys are in a perpetual state of "jet lag" and its not like the garage guys get to unwind after a long flight like your average holiday maker, most race weekends consist of 20 hour days and very little sleep.

Oh the glamour ;)

Pitlane exit under the track and gravel traps under the grandstand could be interesting but is also the sort of thing that sounds more interesting than it probably actually is.

So is that confirmation that when we see your team-mates drinking multiple cans of RebBull, it is the real thing and not replaced with water or some less potent fluid?

Yup the garage is stocked with fridges full of Red Bull, ask Duke i took him into the garage at Silverstone last year.

It was very nice but was too busy taking things in to worry about the free Redbull cans on offer :D

Did anyone actually seriously believe the GP would end up at Donington? I hate (no I love) to say 'I told you so' but it was clearly never going to happen.

Does anyone want the British GP to be at Donnigton?

To me, Silverstone is a true drivers circuit, rewarding bravery and genuine skill. There are overtaking opportunities if you have the balls for it.

I for one believe that it would be a massive shame if Silverstone lost out to Donnigton.

I'd like them to alternate on a lot of circuits in different countries. Purely to not allow the teams to gather the vast amounts of data they do for each circuit. Let them test one year at donnington but then race at silverstone at vice verca.

Then again I don't see why we can't have both after all Germany hosted two when MS was the top man.

Good idea - of course that still depends on enough investment to be found for Silverstone to be updated (let alone Donnington to actually be built)
